Yesterday was a monumental day for Locker and the everyday consumer as we officially launched our newest feature, Shopping Payback! At its core, Payback is so much more than just commissions for shopping - it's a signal to consumers that sharing their taste is worth celebrating and rewarding. Since launching the concept of Payback, I have been so moved from some of the messages we received from our community - messages from young moms realizing they can turn their tried & true baby product recs into a side hustle, or the college girl who can make some money back while shopping for her winter formal and put it towards rent, tuition or whatever else she desires. Over the past decade we've seen the creator economy drastically evolve from traditional bloggers and YouTubers, now to micro-influencers at scale. We've seen how traditional influencer platforms have catered to their needs and helped them thrive, but as we look to the future, we see a world where taste isn't defined by follower counts and aesthetics, but instead by real, everyday people. This is why with the launch of Payback, we are democratizing taste so that anyone can be empowered to make confident purchases and then share those products they love with others, while reaping the rewards of having really good taste. This will also be a huge step forward for brands who want to nurture their loyal consumers and attract new ones. We're excited to help bridge the gap and create a more positive relationship between our brand partners and consumers, who have been deprioritized by modern marketing and the influencer economy for too long. Thank you to so many of you - fellow founders, Locker community, and brand partners - we really did this FOR you but also couldn't have made it this far without you ❤️ And an extra special shout out to the Locker team - this truly would not have been possible without all of their hard work and dedication Mary Grace Scully Alex Chavez Sylvain Ung Hannah Detwiler 🛍️ If you are not already on the waitlist for Payback, WYD? Just gonna leave this here 🤯 In November, Locker passed our record number of products saved in a month by a landslide (830K), bringing our total number of products saved by users to 8M! Between prepping for BFCM shopping hauls, and planning out holiday wishlists, the Locker community is a testament to how the modern consumer behaves. They're not impulsively buying every TikTok Shop or IG ad they see, they are actually also: -Thoughtfully organizing things that inspire them -Cross-comparing deals and source cool new brands -Sharing their finds with friends through curated collections that represent their personal style -and then based on our preliminary BFCM performance stats 👀 when they're finally ready to add to cart, they're executing with confidence 🎁 #holidayshopping #bfcm #consumerbehavior

During the chaos of BFCM, we received an email that we had been featured in Forbes for Locker's upcoming Shopping Payback rewards program as the #1 way to turn your holiday shopping intro a side hustle! Since Locker's inception over 4 years ago, my POV on affiliate commissions and consumer rewards has always been that it would be for everyone, or no one. Meaning that unlike traditional influencer platforms, Locker would democratize the monetization of "taste" and allow everyday consumers to earn for what they shop and share. We are so close to the launch of Payback, so more on that coming soon, but in the meantime you can get a sneak peek from Forbes: "We’re all familiar with influencers earning affiliate commissions on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. But what if you could get a piece of that action, without having to build a massive following? Enter Locker... Locker simplifies online shopping by letting users browse multiple websites and save products directly to their Locker without the clutter of endless browser tabs. It’s an organizational tool that not only streamlines your shopping, but also helps curb impulse purchasing by slowing down the decision-making process... ...And with Locker’s Shopping Payback program, you can turn your holiday shopping into a side hustle... Locker takes the collaborative aspect of shopping to the next level by connecting like-minded shoppers and turning what’s traditionally a solitary activity into a community-driven experience. If you’re someone who loves finding and sharing the best deals, Locker provides a fun and easy way to make money as you shop this holiday season." Thank you Jaime Catmull for the feature! Growing up, my family was not the "let's pull an all nighter to get in line for BFCM shopping" type of family. Even once Black Friday shopping shifted online, we still didn't shop because of the sheer overwhelm. But since starting Locker, I have actually become an expert at BFCM and now it's the time I do almost all of my holiday shopping. So I am going to let you in on my BFCM secrets to success: 1. Know the best sales. IMO sitewide sales are the only ones to shop. Here is my list of the best BFCM sales we make for our community at Locker every year 🔥 https://lnkd.in/gf5VcxT6 2. Be specific as to what you are shopping for - either for yourself or others!   3. Plan your buys. I plan all of my BFCM buys in my Locker and as I buy things, I mark them as purchased (it's like checking things off a to-do list) ✅ This November alone, our community has already saved over 750K products (and counting!!) to their Locker collections. A HUGE spike compared to even October, which had been our highest product save month yet at ~550K. With holiday shopping and BFCM sales, people need the time and space to make thoughtful purchase decisions. Personally, I am not only going to be doing holiday shopping but also will be buying items out of my Locker Home Collection that I have been waiting to go on sale. It is amazing to see hundreds of thousands of our community members doing the same thing this gift giving and BFCM season 🎁 If you're a brand looking to share your BFCM offers, feel free to share them in the comments or send us an email at partnerships@wantlocker.com! The Locker community loves a good sale and then loves to share it on their wishlist, too 🤝 #blackfriday #bfcm #cybermonday #onlineshopping #socialcommerce #holidayshopping

Locker now has college ambassadors across 36 college campuses in the US. Since launching the program, we have joined countless sororities and campus clubs for virtual meetings, but this past weekend we were invited to speak at a conference hosted by one of our college ambassadors on their campus. Thank you to Sydney Skees, Kennedy Herschberger and all of the Locker ambassadors at Grand Canyon University for inviting me to be your keynote speaker for your Women in Business conference. It was such an inspiring day spent with over 250 aspiring entrepreneurs and business women and so surreal to look into the crowd of these incredible young women and realize that just 10 years ago I was a student at Southern Methodist University on my real estate journey with no idea where it would ultimately lead me. The women invited me to be vulnerable and share the very real and personal moments in my life that at the time felt like unsurmountable challenges, but were necessary stepping stones to get to where I am today. I was also so excited to have Mary Grace Scully and Hannah Detwiler join me to help share their POV on building authentic connections coming out of college and pivotal stages of their careers. Overall I couldn't have been more impressed with the young women on the leadership board of GCU's WIB club who put on the event, and we loved all of the thoughtful questions that the attendees asked. We left feeling so hopeful for the future of women in business. I'll leave you with my 5 truths that I left with them:  -Nothing is permanent unless you want it to be -You are the only author of your book -Don’t underestimate the power of being underestimated -Fear breeds greatness - put yourself at risk to figure out what you are capable of -The way you see the world is not always the way someone else sees it. Stay curious. #collegestudents #womeninbusiness #community #femalefounder #entrepreneur #entrepreneurship #startup

Nearly every second, a shopper is saving a product to their Locker wishlist. So it's no wonder that shoppers are running to wantlocker.com and our app to search for "christmas" about 5 thousand times every single day for the past couple of months. ...and this isn't even including the tens of thousands of other iterations of the word, like "xmas, holiday gift, gift guide"... 😏 What does this phenomena mean for brands, who want to reach young women who are actively building out their own personal holiday wishlists, while also single-handedly doing all the shopping for their loved ones and family members across all demos?! In Nov 2023, Locker kicked off its first ever paid gift guide campaign. A lot of lessons were learned from diving into the affiliate world (like when to start pitching to brands, and what KPIs matter most, and that frankly, our audience is a lot more valuable than we could have ever imagined). After more than doubling our audience over that past year, we took those learnings to create a pretty cool holiday offering for brands this holiday season. Starting this Nov 1st, we kicked off our gift guide campaign, which features 14+ themed gift guides (everything from Gifts under $150 to Gifts for In-Laws), and several other exclusive guides (like "Reformation Gift Guide"). Every product is carefully hand-selected by the Locker team, and each collection is then rotated throughout our content page and owned social channels throughout the holiday months. Locker affiliate brand partners were eligible to secure inclusion by coordinating with our team (email partnerships@wantlocker.com for a few spots left in Dec!). To further amplify this campaign, we've tapped into our own community to encourage them to share their own guides and educate others on how they can make them too, with coordinated social campaigns across our college ambassador program (36+ schools), Locker Shopping Club (2K+ ambassadors), and a few upcoming social giveaways with our most engaged shoppers. As a result, odds are you might just learn how to make your own Locker wishlist simply by scrolling TikTok or clicking through IG stories, thanks to the influx of genuine testimonies from our Locker community. But there's a *definite* chance if you're not quite sure what to tell Santa you want this year, you can go to Locker and get inspired by what our community has already saved (7.5M products and counting ;). Plus, we just rolled out an automated version of our fan-favorite "Send a Hint" email feature, so if you've curated that wishlist but need a little help with the "nudge", we've got you covered! If your brand hasn't yet partnered with Locker, and you want to be one of those highly-curated and peer-vetted search results when shoppers are turning to Locker instead of Google or even TikTok for their gift search, send us a note at partnerships@wantlocker.com so we can help you get in front of our shopping savvy community 🎁 #holiday #bfcm #ugc #socialcommerce

LA friends - in honor of Locker's new Payback feature coming soon, we are hosting our first ever Pay It Forward Week, starting with an event next Thursday in Santa Monica! For this event, we will be putting together care packages for the unhoused community in Los Angeles on behalf of The People Concern's Swashlock Locker Program. Lockers offered by SHWASHLOCK are reserved for unhoused community members who wish to store their belongings while they work or while they search for employment and housing. “The bags our program participants carry can weigh more than 50 lbs. which wears on the body. Having their items on the streets also makes them vulnerable to being robbed or having their stuff stolen while they are sleeping... Having a locker to store their documents is a vital resource” - The People Concern. We are so grateful to all of our brand sponsors including Jinx, Bombas, All Better Co., Salo & Salo Dental Aesthetics, Laundry Sauce, Fair & Square and by/ rosie jane who have donated products for our care packages that will be given to individuals utilizing the locker program. Reserve your spot here if you want to join us! https://lnkd.in/gU-si7C8 and shoutout Partiful for always making it so easy to bring Locker's digital community IRL! And a special thank you to the Wonder Ventures team for hosting! Valentina R. Taylor Bolhack Dustin Rosen 🙏 🌎 For those not in LA but looking to help Pay it Forward: We're still open to donations from brand partners in the personal hygiene space - we will be donating 200 care packages. Message me if you might know someone who can help contribute! Keep up with us on socials (@wantlocker) to get inspired with small ways to make a difference locally each day of our inaugural Pay It Forward Week! #payitforward #communityevents #consumer #community #givingback #giveback #startup

Locker was named #5 among the Top Commerce Startups on The Information's global list of the 50 Most Promising Startups for 2024! 🤯 This recognition is something that I would never have thought possible two years ago. Even just last year I was passed on by hundreds of investors who didn't see my vision and the value of Locker democratizing curation and affiliate commerce to the everyday consumer. For the longest time, it felt like being underestimated was a weakness, but now I realize it has become our biggest strength. Thank you to Ann Gehan for your research in the commerce sector, and for recognizing how Locker is punching above its weight alongside companies that have substantially more funding. Honored to be named alongside these amazing commerce companies. To our Locker community, you earned this recognition! Thank you so much to all of you who helped us get here. For those of you who are maybe now just taking a peek, we have an incredible year ahead and would love to have you join us 😊 #TheInformation50 #socialcommerce #consumertech #startup #onlineshopping

We just got word that Locker has officially earned a patent for our shoppable collage feature! 🎖 Launched back in Feb '23, collages have quickly become a favorite form of creative expression for Locker shoppers looking to ~visualize products they've saved on Locker. Personally, I love being able to see if I can style a product 5 different ways with items already in my closet, before deciding if it's worth the purchase 💅 Collages have also lowered the barrier to entry for everyday consumers who want to easily share their cohesive outfits or room flatlays on social media & with friends, but maybe don't want to have to create an entire moodboard on Canva 😂 or consider themselves as "creators" per se. As a result, collages have become a hugely shareable form of UGC (user-generated collages as we call them), driving a big chunk of our daily social media mentions from Locker shoppers showing off gameday outfits, dorm room layouts, and more. Thank you to Kristine Locker for supporting my crazy idea to add the collage tool on day 1 at Locker - I'm excited to see where we take this product next (spoiler alert: like earning $$ from people shopping your collages, and making the collage functionality even more dynamic!) 🚀 #startup #collage #patent
