We’re more than just a funder—we work comprehensively across a number of areas in order to provide our grantees with the support they deserve. While we do offer grants, we also collaborate with other philanthropy organizations to expand resources for critical grassroots movements. We offer mentorship and amplification to connect leaders to partners, more funders, and the public. We demonstrate innovative ways to break out of traditional financial investment strategies, encouraging instead a mission-driven investment approach that reflects our values and supports the priorities of the movements and organizations we fund. Intersectional movements deserve comprehensive support!

The movements we support are people-powered #Grassroots efforts on the local, national, and global scales. Many of our grantees are led by women and young people. These inspiring leaders are fighting for a more #Sustainable and equitable future that leaves no one behind.
-
Our investing is mission-aligned, meaning we intentionally invest in transformative social and environmental change rather than destructive industries like #FossilFuels. This makes a positive impact and we see excellent returns.

Henry A. Wallace is our namesake and founder. He was a visionary progressive leader who served as the 33rd Vice President of the United States under Franklin D. Roosevelt. Wallace championed a strong government that advances #Equality and #HumanDignity for all—ideals that formed the foundation of our work supporting people-powered movements that advance democracy, protect human rights, and fight for a healthy planet.

WGF grantee People & Planet just dropped their University League which ranks 149 UK universities by #sustainability + #ethics standards. People & Planet campaigns hard for UK unis to divest from #FossilFuels—with big success! 🎓 See where schools rank: https://lnkd.in/g-s9UBB

Together, we can help #EndFGM by funding survivor-centered organizations and other key partners combating this violence within our borders and abroad. Follow US End FGM Network, Ifrah Foundation, Global Media Campaign, and Sahiyo for ways you can support survivors, get involved, and spread the word.

The #climate crisis demands far greater action than what emerged from #COP29. The Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty brought together 125 climate champions to launch an open letter urging a plan to #EndFossilFuels. We need action. We need a Fossil Fuel Treaty. We are all safer, healthier, and more economically stable when every American earns a living wage—yet many earn less than a fair wage despite our country's wealth. The Patriotic Millionaires' new book "Pay the People" lays out a simple, inclusive economic plan to hold corporations accountable for stagnating wages and return power to the people in the form of fair pay. 📖 https://paythepeople.com

EarthRights International has won an historic settlement in a case against the International Finance Corporation (IFC), was accused of abetting human rights abuses, including murder, in #Honduras. This is the first time any international financial institution has agreed to pay to end a lawsuit brought by an injured community and is a meaningful victory to the campesino families in the Bajo Aguán Valley who were victims of the violence. #CorporateAccountability Get the details of the case: https://bit.ly/3DtS06E
