  • Ecological transformation is an investment, but it’s one that Christophe M., Senior Executive Vice President, Veolia Asia Pacific, argues is necessary to save costs in the future when facing more extreme weather conditions. “We position ourselves as an insurance to cover against all the damages that can happen in the future.” In Episode 2 of ‘Together to GreenUp’, we talk with Christophe more about the importance of ecological transformation, and how working hand in hand with partners will help us achieve our goals faster. • How is Veolia turning the tide for ecological transformation? That is exactly what we’ve asked our company leaders around the world. Part of our #GreenUp 2024-2027 strategic program aims to accelerate our efforts to pave the way for a more sustainable and desirable future. Whether in water, waste or energy, our employees are working together to find solutions that protect public health and our natural resources. In this week's episode of 'Together to GreenUp', we sat down with Veolia CEO Estelle Brachlianoff, who talked about the importance of our acceleration of solutions for ecological transformation and what she is most proud of at Veolia. Hear what she has to say.

  • The United States established the Safe Drinking Water Act in 1974 to protect the health of our communities and safeguard this vital natural resource. Today, we’re celebrating 50 years of the law and the advancements we’ve made at Veolia to better treat and supply water to almost 7 million people across the United States. We understand the critical importance of reliable and sustainable water management solutions, and through our work we’re finding new and innovative ways to protect, optimize and conserve this precious resource for future generations. • On this day in 1853, Napoléon III authorized the creation of the Compagnie Générale des Eaux (later Veolia) in France, tasked with regulating water supplies to towns and cities around the country. Today, the company has spread to all corners of the globe with the development of ambitious solutions to protect our environment and our resources. With a focus on water, waste and energy, we provide essential services to decarbonize, depollute and regenerate resources. Learn more about Veolia’s history at https://lnkd.in/eEanviXu

  • If you took all the wind turbine blades that we’ve recycled over the last five years, they would stretch end-to-end from Washington DC to New York City. It’s a neat idea, but we’d rather turn these decommissioned blades into something that helps create a better future. As the world’s largest environmental services company, finding solutions to environmental challenges is something we’ve been doing for more than 170 years. That’s why industry leaders in renewable energy count on us to keep end-of-life blades from ending up in landfills. Our pioneering solution recycles materials from decommissioned wind blades as raw materials for the production of cement—a leading cause of greenhouse gas emissions, representing an estimated 8% of total GHG emissions globally. The rest of the blade material becomes a lower-carbon fuel alternative to coal, which further reduces hard-to-abate greenhouse gas emissions in cement production. Our solution supports cleaner cement production by reducing the need for virgin raw materials, providing a lower-carbon fuel alternative to coal, and reducing water consumption. Whether you are managing a single wind turbine or a large scale wind farm repower project, we deliver the expertise you can trust, the capacity to grow with you and the reliability to get the job done—efficiently and sustainably.
