Five years ago today America's newest military branch was created! In that timeframe the United States Space Force has made enormous strides in safeguarding our Nation's space assets and making our world a safer space. Happy #USSF5 to all of our Guardians!
For nearly five years, #Guardians have been committed to securing our Nation's interests in, from, and to space. Guardians like Spc. 4 Roberto Santiago-Irizarry & 2nd Lt. Yoon Jung Lee, both with the 18th Space Defense Squadron, are critical to our space mission & provide conjunction analysis & potential collision notifications to NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration & other satellite owner-operators. #USSF5 #SpaceForce

When a fun Christmas gift turns into a valuable Space Force teaching tool. While dating her now-husband, USSF Guardian Maj. Rich Reiter III, elementary teacher, Ashley Lomelin wrote a book, “So, You Want to be a Space Force Guardian,” as a special tribute to his important work in space. The book became an instant hit with her students and, today, Guardians across Space Systems Command are sharing it during STEM visits to local schools -- inspiring students about the Space Force and a career in the space industry. The military couple shared, “One never knows how far a child will go with a little positive inspiration. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dUZ-ktzv

Today the U.S. Space Force blazed a new trail of readiness and resilience on behalf of our National Security Space Launch Program with a first-ever launch of its Rapid Response Trailblazer (RRT) mission for GPS on SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 40, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. This mission executed in less than 5 months, delivering next-gen technology that ups our nation’s GPS constellation to 31 satellites and incorporates advanced signal protection. The mission’s success is thanks to the hard work of all parties involved, including our dedicated U.S. Space Force team, SpaceX, Lockheed Martin, and their industry partners. Together we demonstrated the ability to respond to an emergent operational need and move out fast! Read more: https://lnkd.in/gDXwySeQ
