From the moon to the Academy 🌕🌳 In collaboration with Space Delta 13's Space Detachment 1, the United States Air Force Academy unveiled a plaque for its first Artemis Moon Tree—an American Sweetgum sapling grown from seeds that orbited the moon on NASA’s Artemis I mission in 2022! The Artemis Moon Tree program, part of NASA’s initiative to inspire future generations in STEM, continues the legacy of the Apollo 14 Moon Trees, which were grown from seeds that traveled to the moon in 1971. Maj. Lucia White, an Academy instructor and Space Force officer, led the effort to bring the Artemis Moon Tree to the Academy with the support of Col. ✨STARCOM Spotlight 🔦✨ It's time to shine a spotlight on another STARCOM team member whose hard work and dedication contributes to our mission to develop, educate, and train Guardians. Meet Tech. Sgt. Nam Le, a Denver, Colorado native who served nearly 10 years in the U.S. Army as an IT specialist. After joining the United States Space Force, Sergeant Le quickly became an invaluable member of the Delta 10 team, providing critical cyber support and expertise for every doctrine, tactics, and wargame initiative that Delta 10 provides on behalf of the Space Force, including STARCOM's annual Schriever Wargame. Sergeant Le manages requests for information and facilitates realistic, threat-informed wargame experiences for USSF, joint, international, civil, and commercial partners. Prepare Every Guardian! The Vosler NCO Academy launched its first Fellowship I class on Nov. 4, beginning the Enlisted Professional Military Education journey for junior enlisted Guardians. Vosler Fellowship I, Basic Leadership Experience (BLE) equips Guardians with foundational skills in leadership, problem-solving and space domain expertise. Fellows develop the ability to anticipate and address unforeseen challenges and apply risk-management and innovative strategies under pressure to drive mission success. The course emphasizes adaptability in a rapidly changing domain, fosters a culture of empowerment, and enhances communication to streamline operational efficiency.
