(English Version Below) Le 13 décembre, la Cheffe de programme et le chef opérations d'UNMAS ont assisté à la cérémonie d'inauguration et de présentation du laboratoire d'enquête post-explosion d'UNPOL aux autorités de la MINUSCA, en présence des directeurs généraux et des responsables de la police nationale et de la gendarmerie. L'agencement et l'équipement de ce laboratoire, qui remplit une double fonction en tant qu'élément clé de la réponse à la menace des explosifs et en tant que phase initiale du renforcement des capacités médico-légales nationales. ------ On December 13, Chief Mine Action Programme (CMAP) and UNMAS operations attended the inauguration and presentation ceremony of the UNPOL post-explosion investigation laboratory to MINUSCA authorities, in the presence of the General Directors and officials from the National Police and Gendarmerie. The layout and equipment of this laboratory, which serves a dual purpose as a key component in the response to the explosive threat and as the initial phase in strengthening national forensic capabilities, were developed with the support and guidance of UNMAS. #MINUSCA

English Version Below） Le 12 décembre, UNMAS, en collaboration avec UNREC, à faciliter un transfert de connaissances et une réunion sur les meilleures pratiques entre la Commission nationale centrafricaine de lutte contre la prolifération des armes légères et de petit calibre (COMNAT-ALPC) et la Commission nationale burundaise de lutte contre la prolifération des armes légères et de petit calibre (NATCOM-SALW). L'objectif de la réunion était d'échanger des expériences et des étapes sur l'élaboration d'un plan d'action et d'une stratégie nationale, en soutien à la NATCOM-SALW burundaise. Cette collaboration met en évidence les progrès de la COMNAT-ALPC conformément au programme d'action des Nations unies, à la convention de Kinshasa et au protocole de Nairobi sur la nécessité d'une commission opérationnelle sur la gestion des armes et des munitions (GAM), ainsi que le positionnement de la RCA en tant que référence pour les autres commissions de la région de la CEEAC. Il souligne également les progrès de la coordination entre les États membres de la CEEAC sur le trafic transfrontalier d'armes légères et de petit calibre. ------ On 12 December, UNMAS in collaboration with UNREC facilitated a knowledge transfer and best practices meeting between the CAR National Commission for the fight against the Proliferation of Small Arms and Light weapons (NATCOM-SALW) and the Burundi NATCOM-SALW. The aim of the meeting was to exchange experiences and steps on drafting a national action plan and strategy, in support of the Burundian NATCOM-SALW. This collaboration highlights the CAR NATCOM-SALW's progress in line with the UN Programme of Action, Kinshasha convention and Nairobi protocol on the need for a functioning Commission on weapons and ammunition management (WAM), and CAR’s positioning as a yardstick for reference for other Commissions in the ECCAS region. It also highlights the progress of coordination among ECCAS member States on cross border illicit trafficking of small arms and light weapons. #MINUSCA
