Union City, Georgia was established on August 17, 1908. Since that time, the community has continued to evolve and is known for its quiet neighborhoods and growing business districts. Our Elected Officials serve as the community’s decision-makers and consist of four(4) Council Members and one (1) Mayor. Located in the southern portion of Fulton County, Union City (UC) is an exuberating and rising City with a big heart. Officers visited with community members, engaged in constructive dialog, and even helped serve a few drinks!  Events like these help ensure that our Police force retains a solid connection to the community they serve.   • It is with great pride that we announce Marilyn McCain as Union City’s 2024 Citizen of the Year. A healthcare professional and an integral member of the Grady Healthcare Systems Leadership team, Marilyn is also a proud Spelman College graduate and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. With over 40 years of dedicated service, she has played a pivotal role in uplifting our community. Marilyn’s leadership in local organizations, along with her long tenure on the Union City Planning Commission, has left a lasting impact on the city's growth and vitality. Her kindness, resilience, and unwavering commitment to Union City have helped shape it into the vibrant, welcoming community it is today.   • Our Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Event was the perfect way to kick off the holiday season! Highlights included live performances, horse carriage rides, photos with Santa, and an abundance of holiday cheer. Hot cocoa, popcorn, and sweet treats were also distributed to Union City residents.
