Love this! More public EV chargers = more people willing to get behind the wheel of an EV and enjoy the benefits of clean air, seamless acceleration, and regenerative braking, to name a few benefits. Unfortunately, still not enough is being done to roll out low cost, publicly accessible EV charging in Australia, we are well behind counties that are seeing a marked increase EV car sales and our new car sales are reflecting this. The latest stat according to the International Energy Agency (IEA) is that Australia has 68 cars per public EV charger, this has declined since the last report when it was 35 cars to 1. The global recommended average is 11 cars per charger and the Netherlands has 5 cars per charger. These initiatives funded by the NSW Government are excellent but even more public charging is needed to ensure people can feel comfortable in switching to an EV knowing there will be highly accessible low cost public charger nearby.

I can't believe it has already been two weeks since I attended the "Challenges Drive Change" event at Aberthaw Power Station, focusing on decarbonisation projects. ⚡🌍 Organised by CCR Energy, the event brought together public and third sector professionals from the Cardiff Capital Region dedicated to carbon reduction. I had the privilege of presenting alongside Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, showcasing how we can support fleet EV adoption through our turnkey EV charging solution. It was fantastic to share our experiences, challenges, and solutions. There were some truly amazing projects presented: ✅The Welsh Automotive Forum discussed their feasibility study on repowering buses and coaches across Wales. ✅Monmouthshire County Council and Vantastec Ltd showcased their ground breaking hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. ✅Caerphilly County Borough Council and Optrak Distribution Software Ltd demonstrated their tailored software for managing electric vehicles and charging locations. It was inspiring to see the exchange of ideas aimed at accelerating low carbon initiatives. The event highlighted the need for innovation in public sector decarbonisation and the potential for scaling solutions across the region.
