As we look toward 2025 and beyond, the K-12 tutoring landscape stands on the cusp of significant transformation. With the administration changing in January, educators and administrators alike are grappling with uncertainty about how federal policy shifts might impact ongoing efforts to address learning gaps and boost educational outcomes. In the wake of COVID-19, many initiatives have emerged to counter the staggering levels of learning loss that students across the nation have experienced. However, despite these efforts, there is a pervasive sense that America’s educational system is fundamentally failing its students—a reality starkly reflected in recent NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) scores, which reveal worrisome trends in reading and math proficiency across the K-12 spectrum. 📣 This is a critical moment for high-impact tutoring. We can't give up now! High-impact tutoring has proven to be a powerful tool for improving student learning, engagement, and attendance. However, with federal pandemic relief funding drying up, states and school districts face challenges in sustaining these programs. Despite these obstacles, there are promising approaches to ensure the continued success of high-impact tutoring.
