With the current technology, truck batteries are significantly heavier than the average truck. That means, fewer goods per load for every EV truck. End result – MORE trucks on the road! But, there is another way! If we allow the technology to catch up – we can support advanced bio fuels and renewable diesel which can run in trucks ALREADY ON THE ROAD – with no retrofitting! We can have the immediate environmental impact while we get the infrastructure and technology to where we need it to be for the future of EV Fleets!

Big news and double the celebration today! Not only are we thrilled to congratulate Zach Miller on his well-deserved promotion to Vice President of Government Affairs, but we’re also wishing him a very happy birthday! Zach has been a driving force behind TANY’s advocacy efforts in the Metro Region, building strong relationships and championing the interests of the trucking industry regionally and will bring that strength across New York State. We can’t wait to see all he’ll accomplish in this new role.

Starting January 1, truck manufacturers must sell a certain percentage of electric vehicles (EVs) in order to sell diesels. It sounds like a win for the environment—and we all support cleaner air—but here’s the problem: NYS hasn’t prepared the infrastructure or considered the limitations of current trucking technology.
