Tria Federal enjoyed supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' FTS Hackathon, an exciting three-day event that brought together federal employees, industry experts and college students for three days in Austin, Texas earlier this fall. College students had the rare chance to solve some of the federal government’s toughest fraud and cybersecurity challenges. Teams worked on cutting-edge projects including an AI-powered fraud detection platform, a risk management dashboard, and a tool that identifies providers engaging in medical billing fraud. 💡 What so great about hackathons? They provide a framework for problem-solving without the biases that can come with professional experience, says Tria CTO John Cho and an FTS Hackathon judge. “Everyone wins at a hackathon,” Cho says. “Hard problems get tackled. Creative collaboration between academia, government and industry can flourish. Students can gain tremendous knowledge and experience.
