We are thrilled to announce that Loyola University Chicago has joined Tradewater and Second Nature in our campaign to eliminate 1 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions by 2030 through the collection, control, and destruction of non-CO2 gases. Carbon offsets comprise 15 percent of Loyola’s zero-emissions achievement, with the rest achieved through use of renewable energy, investments in efficient buildings and campus energy systems, and innovative carbon reduction projects on campus. With a Green Rating of 99/99, Loyola is currently ranked 12th in The Princeton Review's "Guide to Green Colleges: 2025 Edition." It is the highest-ranked Jesuit institution and top school in Illinois on the list. Sustainability is also a core part of the undergraduate curriculum. For more info on Loyola’s work with carbon offsets, read their full statement: https://lnkd.in/gyKy8RDu Loyola joins 1 Million Tonnes Campaign member Pomona College and other institutions working with Tradewater through carbon offset and management of ozone-depleting substances on-campus. Thank you, Loyola University Chicago, for your leadership on climate action!

🚧🚧🚧 NEW ACR CASE STUDY: Tradewater -Thailand Carbon Project With no law, rule or regulation requiring the destruction of ozone-depleting substances – which are also potent climate-changing gases – and without financial resources to pay for destruction, the Thai government worked with Tradewater to safely and responsibly destroy gas from more than 1,400 cylinders. 📣 Check out the sessions our Partnerships Manager, Eli Etzioni, will be attending this week at #Verge24!
Here are 5 #CarbonMarkets sessions I'm planning to attend at #Verge24 this week where carbon buyers, project developers, platforms, and experts will share hard-earned lessons and best practices: ⏳ When Do Carbon Credits Make Sense In Your Climate Strategy? ⏳ Looking forward to hearing from this panel on how they convinced their companies to get off the sidelines and dedicate budget to buying #CarbonCredits. 💵 Putting a Price on Carbon: How to Set an Internal Carbon Fee 💵 I think an internal carbon price is often the unsung hero behind bold corporate climate action. It's great to see a whole session focused on this and featuring our trailblazing partner Erik Hansen, CSO of Workday. 🎤 Carbon Project Pitch 🎤 I salute the project developers that will be getting up live on stage and pitching their projects to a group of buyers and investors. 🤝 Carbon Offtake Agreement Tutorial 🤝 When structured well, multi-year offtakes can offer outsize benefits for both buyers and sellers of carbon credits. This session will be a chance to learn from some of the pioneers of carbon offtakes. This one features Erik again and Bee Hui Yeh from our partner Patch. 📣 Comms Workshop: Credible Climate Claims 📣 When a buyer makes a thoughtful purchases of high-quality carbon credits, but doesn't follow that up with a similarly thoughtful claim, I think they miss opportunities to strengthen their brand and motivate others to take similarly thoughtful climate action. I'm glad to see this session focused on claims with a specific call-out about carbon credits. If you’ll be at VERGE and want to discuss carbon credit portfolio design, optimizing for both price and quality, CCP approvals, synergies between carbon removal and non-CO2 gas avoidance, or you just want to say hi, let’s meet up for a chat!

Thank you, Erik Hansen, for highlighting the power of collaboration in climate action! 🌎
Excited to share my reflections on #ClimateWeekNYC. This year’s theme was “It’s Time.” I couldn’t agree more. ⏳ Here are some key takeaways: - Collaboration is essential for driving meaningful change. Partnerships between private sector, public sector, and non-profits, such as the work we support through Corporate Leaders Groups Europe, are crucial for accelerating climate action. 🤝 - Support solutions available today, while investing in the solutions of tomorrow. Organizations like Project Drawdown and Tradewater show that we can focus on non-CO2 gases like #methane as a high-leverage emergency brake on climate. 🌎 - Governments and the private sector agree that it’s imperative to create ways for companies to engage with the voluntary carbon market to scale high-impact, high-integrity climate solutions. Companies can maximize their sustainability budgets and leverage financing to create value by learning from experienced orgs, which is why Workday and Patch teamed up to share a playbook for Chief #Sustainability Officers. 📔 - Upskilling the workforce for a green economy is critical. My friend and colleague Carrie Varoquiers (Chief Philanthropy Officer), who leads our Workday Foundation, shared how investing in training and development for clean energy jobs will be key to a successful transition. 🧑💻 At Workday, we’ll continue to advance climate action, fund innovation to deliver promising technologies, build the workforce needed for a clean energy transition, and improve supply chain transparency for better emissions and climate data. P.S. Check the embedded video for a wonderful discussion with Jonathan Foley at Project Drawdown, Kirsten Love at Tradewater, and Whitney B. at The Nest Climate Campus
