Andy Brosnan, President of Low Carbon Fuels at Anew Climate, shared his insights at this week's RNG Coalition conference panel on the future of the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). With the RFS facing evolving challenges—from the implications of a new presidential administration to the EPA's recently proposed partial waiver of the 2024 D3 Renewable Volume Obligation —one key takeaway was clear: the renewable natural gas industry needs alternative RFS pathways to incentivize growth. The supply of RNG is outpacing demand into existing RFS CNG/LNG transportation fuel pathways, which creates a bottleneck on continued industry expansion. The EPA has an opportunity to remove this constraint by approving viable new pathways that reflect the diverse potential of renewable fuels like RNG. The renewable fuels industry needs policies that enable growth, build market confidence, and drive progress toward decarbonization. At Anew Climate, we advocate for pragmatic solutions and provide our clients with optionality in quickly changing markets, thanks to our team's deep expertise and extensive network.
