Happy New Year! During December, WATER WELL TRUST INCORPORATED and The Chris Long Foundation used pipe sourced by the Vinyl Institute to provide clean drinking water to a family in Blairsville, PA. The family used to travel to haul in water from elsewhere - but thanks to this wonderful program and the use of PVC pipe in their new system, they no longer have to! It's 2025 now, and everyone deserves access to clean water!

About us
From the alarm clock that wakes you up in the morning to the house that keeps you comfortable and safe at night, vinyl plays a vital role in your everyday life. It is truly one material with infinite uses. Vinyl is the material for life. Vinyl products can be found in just about every home or business, in hundreds of different applications. Because of the physical nature of this versatile plastic, vinyl can be rigid or flexible, weather or heat resistant, impact resistant, thick or thin, and any color of the rainbow. We're the Vinyl Institute, a U.S. trade organization representing leading manufacturers of vinyl, vinyl chloride monomer, vinyl additives and modifiers, and vinyl packaging materials. Our vinyl resin manufacturers produce 15 billion pounds of resin annually in the US -- 10 billion pounds goes into US vinyl products, the other 5 billion pounds are exported. Seventy percent of the resin used in the United States goes into the building and construction market -- with almost half of that going into large diameter PVC pipes for water infrastructure. Other vinyl building products include roofing, cladding, windows, decking, fencing, flooring, wall covering, coated electrical wiring and jacketing, and coated fabrics. Other markets served by the US vinyl resin manufacturing include medical devices (blood bags, tubing), transportation, adhesives, inks and coatings, electronics, furniture, industrial machinery and packaging. The U.S. vinyl industry employs over 350,000 highly skilled employees at nearly 3,000 facilities and generates an economic value of $54.4 billion. The VIABILITY grant program has been a huge benefit to the world of post-consumer vinyl recycling. The Vinyl Sustainability Council's Executive Director Jay Thomas recently stopped by EXEON PROCESSORS LLC to discuss their recycling efforts, as well as how the VIABILITY grant helped their work in this area. The winter months can be harsh, especially depending on where you live. One material stands above the rest and can last longer than others, even in the harshest of conditions. PVC products have been trusted by homebuilders for decades. Learn all about it: https://lnkd.in/eKSxkNHp

INCREDIBLE PROJECT! The Polymeric Exterior Products Association (PEPA) launched the Revinylize Recycling Collaborative in Louisville recently by re-siding the New Leaf Clinic (a facility focused on allowing patients in recovery to transition into more independent living with continuing support). Through industry partnership, their team was able to take down the old vinyl siding, recycle the product, and re-furbish the building with brand new siding. This amazing project and collaborative effort of the vinyl industry: ✅ Showcases vinyl siding’s benefits: durability, affordability and recyclability ✅ Spotlights a local non-profit’s incredible story ✅ Proves how powerful vinyl siding recycling can be for our planet and community
