AI Native Revenue Automation for Finance - CEO & Founder at Tabs

How “Dogfooding” Tabs Drives User Experience 🚀 As Founder and CEO of Tabs, one of the most important things I do is use our product every single day—not just as a leader, but as a user. Since day one, I’ve been responsible for every bill going out from Tabs. This practice, often called “dogfooding,” has been transformative for both me and our team. By actively engaging with Tabs daily, I gain a firsthand understanding of our product’s strengths and where we need to improve. It’s not just about finding bugs or imagining new features—it’s about truly walking in our customers’ shoes. It forces me to see Tabs as a tool real businesses depend on to operate smoothly, scale quickly, and make smarter decisions. Here’s how this practice has driven meaningful outcomes: 🚀 Better Product Roadmap My experience as a user directly informs our priorities. When we began offering credit card payments, some of my customers asked to have their cards billed automatically each month. I asked the team how I could enable that. A couple of engineers built the Auto-charge feature over a weekend. Knowing the feature would be used immediately pushed them to build a quick MVP, which we then perfected for broader use cases. 🛠️ Empathy for Our Customers Dogfooding sharpens my focus on delivering value, simplicity, and reliability. When we transitioned from Salesforce to Hubspot, I experienced the feature gaps firsthand and pushed for parity between the two integrations. Now, Salesforce and HubSpot see equal usage among our customers, and new features roll out simultaneously to both. My personal experience—combined with a strategic, data-driven approach—helped us bridge this gap. 🔄 Real-Time Feedback Loop Being a daily user creates an immediate and actionable feedback cycle. When we launched the Collections feature, I went from checking Tabs weekly to interacting with it daily. Notifications from A/P tools like BILL or Ramp prompted me to move invoices to Pending, and payments through SVB let me mark them as Paid. Now, while beta-testing automated A/P portal email processing and cash application, I move tiles less often—but my ongoing feedback has helped the team iterate rapidly to solve issues. Dogfooding is about more than just testing—it’s about accountability. If I don’t believe in and benefit from Tabs as a user, how can I expect others to? To our customers: thank you for trusting Tabs. To my team: let’s keep making it better, together. #Tabs #Dogfooding #B2B #RevenueAutomation

Some CFOs are quietly 10x-ing their team's output with AI. At last months’ F Suite AI Demo Day, 180+ finance leaders lifted the curtain on which tools are actually delivering results... The formal agenda featured four member-vetted solutions (Runway, Tabs, Firmbase, and FinQore (Formerly SaaSWorks)), each selected based on their proven ability to solve real CFO challenges. Each vendor had 10 minutes to present their solution. After vendors departed, members gathered for a closed-door session led by Mark Diment, CPA, MBA (CFO, SmartBug Media) and Kunal S. (CFO, Divergent Technologies), where finance leaders shared unfiltered experiences implementing AI. "Best event I have attended thus far," shared one member. "The 4 vendors showcased were relevant, and the insights shared were invaluable." Another CFO noted: "I appreciated the condensed view into 4 new tools. It's a smart use of time and provides great exposure to innovations in the field." "It was good to hear the closed-door discussions. I'd love to see more of this at future events." In a world of endless AI pitches, sometimes the most valuable insights come from the person sitting next to you. To learn more about our upcoming events, visit The F Suite.

This week we launched our first Best in Class event for the Mastermind Network, featuring Rebecca Schwartz, Head of GTM at Tabs, nominated by her CEO, Ali Hussain. Rebecca shared her journey scaling from zero to a $25M Series A, offering tactical insights for early-stage GTM success. 🚀 Key Takeaways 1️⃣ Early-Stage GTM: All about brute force customer acquisition and feedback, less about strategy and playbooks. Relationship building is through two key channels - outbound and network building. 2️⃣ First Customers: Leverage networking and advisors to secure early customers. You’ll know you’re getting traction once prospects introduce you to people in their networks, even if they don’t buy. 3️⃣ Hiring First Sellers: Resiliency and adaptability is key. Look for adaptable salespeople who thrive without playbooks. Experience selling in tough markets prepares them for early-stage challenges. 4️⃣ Advice for Operators: Selling early-stage products requires resilience, handling rejection, and constant improvement. 💡 Want access to programming like this?
