Incredible report from Cicero® and 47G highlighting Utah’s pivotal role in shaping the future of aerospace, defense, and national security. At Strider Technologies, we're proud to call Utah home, and the reasons are clear. Utah is leading the way, supported by a dynamic ecosystem of talent, infrastructure, and industry collaboration. • Unmatched Collaboration: With partnerships among industry, government, and academia, Utah offers a unique synergy that propels forward-thinking solutions in defense, aerospace, and national security. A perfect example is the Intermountain Intelligence, Industry, and Security Consortium (I3SC), established to prepare the next generation of national security professionals. Funded by the Utah legislature, this program unites the Center for Anticipatory Intelligence at USU and Utah Valley University Center for National Security Studies with industry partners like Adobe, AgilePQ, FireEye, Inc., Fortem Solutions, Northrop Grumman, USU’s Space Dynamics Laboratory and Strider Technologies. Together, this creates a powerful ecosystem dedicated to advancing education, innovation, and security expertise. • Skilled Talent Pipeline: From Utah State University's Space Dynamics Laboratory, which has been at the forefront of national security research for over 60 years, to the University of Utah Aerospace Hub driving advancements in computational design and material sciences, and Utah Aerospace Pathways aligning education with industry needs, Utah’s emphasis on education produces world-class professionals equipped to tackle the challenges of tomorrow. • Strategic Advantages: Utah’s business-friendly policies, robust logistics networks, and access to critical minerals for manufacturing and energy solutions position it as a hub for economic growth. These advantages are bolstered by targeted incentives that encourage business expansion and innovation. For example, Strider was recently awarded a tax credit to create over 150 new high-paying jobs in Utah, further strengthening the state’s role as a center for cutting-edge technology and national security initiatives. Strider CEO and co-founder Greg L. put it best: "Utah’s forward-thinking approach to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship has created an unparalleled environment for success. From its educated workforce to its collaborative culture, Utah is the ideal place for Strider to scale operations, attract top talent, and contribute to groundbreaking advancements in aerospace and defense."
Utah is rapidly becoming a key player in the defense, aerospace, and tech sectors, with growing opportunities for government, industry, and education to collaborate. Our new paper spearheaded by Michael Jenson sheds light on Utah’s strategic advantages, key companies, and initiatives shaping the future of these industries. It also explores the state’s vital natural resources, like minerals and energy, critical to national security. At Cicero, we’re proud to empower innovation across these sectors. With 47G, we’re excited to inform industry leaders, government officials, and stakeholders to help Utah leverage its strengths in aerospace and defense.

State-sponsored espionage is evolving, and so must our approach to counterintelligence. In a recent The Cipher Brief article, Strider CEO, Greg L., and Calder Walton, Assistant Director of the Applied History Project at Harvard’s Kennedy School, advocate for an “all-of-society” approach to counterintelligence. They emphasize that state actors, particularly those representing the PRC, are targeting not only military and political sectors but also economic and technological assets. As highlighted in the article, a pivotal shift in responding to these challenges is the increasing role of open-source intelligence (OSINT). “Open-source intelligence is the fuel of this new capability and stands as a modern-day bulwark. News articles, public records, social media—what once seemed trivial has become a rich vein for enhancing our collective security.” By leveraging publicly available data alongside collaboration between government, private industry, and academia, we can build a stronger, more secure future. Together, let’s protect the innovation that drives global progress. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gKArD-6z

Through scholarships and interdisciplinary studies, the Strider Fellows program will provide support to develop the next generation of leaders in national security and intelligence. From Strider COO and co-founder Eric Levesque: “Empowering the next generation of security and intelligence leaders is vital to meeting the national security challenges of tomorrow. We are honored to partner with USU and UVU as they educate the future workforce of our security and intelligence community.” Together, we’re investing in the future of innovation and security.
