  • You can't build high-performing teams without nailing communication. In remote teams, clear and empathetic communication isn’t optional. Yet, so many teams underestimate its impact. Last month, we hosted an incredible conversation with Remote, ThinkHuman, and Leapsome to explore what really drives high performance in distributed teams. It was one of those discussions where the lightbulbs kept going off. Here are four takeaways we keep coming back to: ✅ Prioritize concise, non-jargony, decision-driven communication. ✅ Invest in leaders who excel at kindness and clarity. ✅ Hire talent with a strong aptitude for written and spoken communication. ✅ Always ask questions, never assume. And this is what drives us at Talaera. In 2025, our mission is to help professionals around the world show up as their best, most authentic selves at work. We’re so excited for what’s ahead, and we can’t wait to share more with you. 🧠 What’s your biggest professional goal for 2025? Thank you Meredith Haberfeld (she/her) for moderating this insightful discussion with Noelle Pittock, Luck Dookchitra, and Anita Anthonj! #webinar #remoteteams #collaboration #effectivecommunication #communicationskills #productivity

  • It’s that time of the year: setting goals. Resolutions we all know we’ll forget by the end of January. But what if we actually followed through? 🤔 Instead of hoping for change, let’s make it happen. Here are 3 research-backed tips to actually stick to your goals and see real progress in the long run.👇 1. Self-monitoring: Track your actions. 📊 To improve anything, you need to know where you’re starting. This is the foundation of growth. Example: If your goal is to give a boost to your career with improved Business English, start by tracking your learning habits –how much time you’re dedicating to study, what specific skills you’re focusing on (e.g., vocabulary, pronunciation, cross-cultural skills), and how often you’re practicing speaking with colleagues or taking classes. 2. Self-evaluation: Review your progress. 🔍 Take a step back and reflect on what’s working and what’s not. You can’t fix what you can’t see. Example: At the end of each week, ask yourself: Did I notice any improvement in my communication skills during meetings or presentations? What did I struggle with? Do I need more focus on writing emails professionally or practicing impromptu speaking? Reflecting helps you adjust and keep going. 3. Self-reaction: Reward yourself (and hold yourself accountable). 💪 This step is crucial for maintaining motivation. Positive reinforcement helps you stay on track, but it’s also important to be honest with yourself and course-correct when necessary. Example: If you successfully implemented new communication strategies at work (like asking for feedback or presenting ideas more confidently), reward yourself by taking time for something you enjoy, like an evening out or watching a favorite show. If you feel you haven’t hit your targets, use that as an opportunity to reassess and set fresh action points for the next week. This is called self-regulation. It’s about taking control of your actions and making steady progress toward your goals. 💫 Found this helpful? Share it with someone who needs a little motivation to get started. Follow Talaera for expert tips, resources, and the support you need to stay on track with your Business English learning goals. #careergoals #learninganddevelopment #businessEnglish #communicationskills #careerdevelopment #professionaldevelopment

  • Feedback isn’t always wrapped in a bow. 🎁 Sometimes, it feels like a punch in the gut. As an L&D leader, Amy (Ostrowski) Malin, MSc has received thousands of feedback forms over the years. Some were clear. Others felt… personal. But here’s the truth: When people give feedback (especially across different cultures) the way they express it can vary wildly. Some are blunt. Some cushion every word. Some seem harsh. But that doesn’t mean people are out to ruin your day. The key? Assume positive intent. 🌱 ✅ Most people aren’t trying to hurt you. ✅ Different communication styles are just that — different. ✅ If you ask for feedback, expect honesty. You opened the door for it. Thank you to Amy for sharing this beautiful reminder. It was such an honor to have you on the Talaera Talks show! Catch the whole conversation about stakeholder management in the comments. What’s your approach to handling tough feedback? #learninganddevelopment #feedback #communicationskills #professionalgrowth #professionaldevelopment #constructivefeedback #podcast

One of the biggest challenges of remote work? Your workday can easily bleed into your life. ➡️ Meetings across multiple time zones. ➡️ No clear start or end to your day. ➡️ A constant sense of “always on.” But there’s a better way: staggered scheduling. 🗓️ It’s about aligning your work hours to fit your energy, your life, and your team’s needs. Every day might look different on your calendar. And that’s okay. You’re still delivering results — just without sacrificing your sanity. As Noelle Pittock put it: "It doesn't need to be a whole mishmash of hours all the time. Staggered scheduling helped me stay accountable and maintain balance." 👉 What are your go-to strategies for keeping remote work sustainable and balanced? Thank you to the fantastic speakers - Meredith Haberfeld (she/her) from ThinkHuman, Luck Dookchitra from Leapsome, Noelle Pittock from Remote, and Anita Anthonj from Talaera for sharing insights on how to truly thrive while working remotely. #remotework #worklifebalance #productivity #multinationalcompany #performance

  • Working with people from different cultures means more than speaking the same language. Misunderstandings are easy — and costly. 🥵 Here's a great start to becoming more effective working in multinational teams: 1 - Cultural Intelligence (CQ) Develop the ability to understand and adapt to different cultural contexts, including communication styles, values, and norms. 2 - Active listening Pay attention to nuances, confirm understanding, and use phrases like “Just to clarify...” or “What I hear you saying is...” to bridge potential gaps. 3 - Inclusive collaboration Encourage participation from all voices, be mindful of cultural preferences for speaking up, and create a psychologically safe environment. 4 - Flexible communication Adapt your style by balancing direct and indirect communication based on cultural norms. 5 - Trust building Focus on building relationships to boost collaboration and clear up misunderstandings. 🔥 Check out the comments sections to access two excellent free resources that will help you navigate cultural differences, collaborate better, and set yourself up for success leading any team. #multinationalteams #diversity #effectivecommunication #communicationskills #businessEnglish #collaboration
