We’re excited to celebrate the recognition of 20 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, as the 2024 ENR MidAtlantic Best Project in the Office/Retail/Mixed-Use category. SurePods is proud to have played a pivotal role in this award-winning transformation of a historic government office building into a new Class-A office space with a luxury hotel blocks from Union Station and the U.S. Capitol. As the first project in Washington D.C. to use factory-built custom bathroom pods, this development marked a major milestone for both the city and the industry. SurePods delivered 206 high-end, factory-built bathroom pods for the Royal Sonesta Hotel, including Italian tile, custom vanities, and glass showers. These pods were manufactured off-site, simultaneously with the hotel’s construction, reducing the overall schedule by 10% and ensuring a streamlined, efficient process. The benefits of this approach were clear: predictable results, high-quality finishes, and timely delivery. We’re proud to have contributed to 20 Mass.'s success alongside The RMR Group and DPR Construction. We saw seven of the industry's leading-edge startups take center stage to cap off Day 1 of the Offsite Construction Conference in a Demo Day that won't soon be forgotten. The competition was a showcase of innovations aiming to transform the buildings and infrastructure industries, from customized automation (Blue Sky Robotics and flexible robotic systems (BotBuilt) to complete modular room units (LOGIC Building Systems), easily integrated pods (SurePods™), and comprehensive, automated construction systems (DataForm Lab and Automated Architecture (AUAR)). Each presenter came prepared with compelling pitches, ready to convince our audience and judges that their respective technology was the industry's next game changer. And while many may end up proving that potential, only one was able to be deemed our 2024 Offsite Construction Conference Demo Day Competition champion. With that being said, please join us in congratulating Mollie Claypool, CO-Founder and CEO of AUAR, who ultimately wowed our panel of judges—featuring experts from Titan America, Blackhorn Ventures, Consigli Construction Co., Inc., UFP Ventures, and Live Oak Bank.
