🚨 Key Update on Student Visa Processing: Ministerial Direction 111 🚨
On 19 December 2024, Ministerial Direction 111 (MD111) replaced MD107, marking a significant shift in how student visa applications are processed for international students.
🔑 What's new?
Visa prioritisation now based on a date-order system instead of provider risk ratings.
Prioritisation will be determined by progress towards indicative targets for new overseas student commencements (2025 NOSC allocations).
80% threshold for prioritisation of applications based on progress toward these targets.
💡 Priority Categories:
Priority 1: Providers below 80% of their allocation.
Priority 2: Providers exceeding the 80% threshold, including dependent family members of students.
Key sectors like Higher Education, VET, TAFE, and certain categories like school students, non-award students, and those enrolled in pilot training courses, will always be considered Priority 1.
🌏 For offshore visa applications: PRISMS data will track enrolments, and certain categories will be given top priority.
As we navigate this transition, Universities Australia continues to advocate for fair processes and smoother pathways for students.
Stay informed and ensure your applications are aligned with these changes!
