The #1 trait every leader needs: consistent flexibility (There's a fun oxymoron for you) Stay with me: CONSISTENT in your: ➡️ Values ➡️ Purpose ➡️ Ethics ➡️ Standards ➡️ Communication ➡️ Empathy FLEXIBLE in how you use them to: ➡️ Approach problems ➡️ Manage challenges ➡️ Embrace disruption ➡️ Navigate uncertainty ➡️ Develop yourself ➡️ Lead your people --- As a leader, you can (and should!) have a bunch of tools in your toolbox - You're most effective when you're mindful about which ones you use in each situation. (don't just grab the hammer because it's your favorite) Your people want to be able to anticipate your actions. What do you think it takes to be a leader & entrepreneur? Brilliant ideas❓ A lot of luck❓ An MBA❓ Those things can help, sure, but they don't get you through the uncertainty, pivots, challenges, and unexpected global pandemics. If you want to hear what it REALLY takes to start, build, and grow a business then come hangout with me this Friday, April 5 @ 12pm ET / 9am PT. I'm thrilled to be interviewing my fellow University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business alum, Chinmay Malaviya, Co-Founder & CEO of Ridepanda. RidePanda officially launched in January 2020... and lived to tell the tale. Find out how Chinmay stayed motivated, focused, and resilient while building a business during an unprecedented time and pivoting from D2C >> B2B. (Make sure to RSVP / add it to your cal) See you on Friday!

What if you believed in yourself (even for like a millisecond)? What scares you so much about being optimistic? ➡️ Wasting time? ➡️ Being judged by others? ➡️ Setting yourself up for disappointment? Those are not truths - they're framings. --- Let me tell you a story to show you what's possible: I caught up with a client last week, and they are THRIVING. They came to me to improve their relationship with their boss. They ended up betting on themselves and launching their own investment fund. Now they: ✅ Have raised their seed capital ✅ Are on track to reach their fundraising goals ✅ Have experts reaching out to THEM for advice ✅ Are enjoying their work (even when it's hard) ✅ Have accomplished things that felt impossible --- How did we get here? By recognizing their own leadership potential (and taking a leap of faith). ➡️ The Decision to Leave Turns out, the challenging manager relationship was a symptom of a bigger issue: a lack of autonomy. People said to 'try and fix it', but it was a cultural + leadership problem. It couldn't be solved with one conversation (or many). They left in pursuit of a culture that worked for them. ➡️ The Decision to Pass They got a great offer from an emerging fund - but they weren't jumping up and down at the opportunity. It made sense on paper, but it still wouldn't give them the level of ownership that they were craving. They anchored on their own experience, strengths, and purpose to visualize their full potential. ➡️ The Decision to Do They listened to the voice saying: Bet on yourself. They shifted their thinking from: what if I raise $0, regret turning down the offer, and ruin my network? To: What if I get to build something I believe in while leading in the way that I've always wanted? Then, they took action (see above for results). --- When you make decisions grounded in faith in yourself, there isn't a lot of downside. Think about it: the alternative is to make decisions based on fear and other people's opinions. Does that sound like a recipe for success to you? --- Did this post strike a chord? Then, we should chat. I'm Alex, a leadership coach helping you have the impact you've always wanted. Check out my website to set up a chat + learn more.

You're allowed to take a break. Unwind, relax, give yourself a minute. ✅ Restorative breaks are good. ✅ ✅ Preventing burnout is better... --- If you have to constantly recharge your battery at work, consider longer-term solutions: ⇢ Better align your work to your values ⇢ Clearly articulate your 'why' (and how you serve it) ⇢ Actually commit to the boundaries you set ⇢ Intentionally schedule time for hobbies ⇢ Actively connect with your community --- Doing more might feel counterintuitive when you're running on fumes - But finding meaning is actually the best fuel there is. --- Post inspired by: Adam Grant ♻️ Repost to share it forward ➡️ Follow me for more daily tips on how to find success AND satisfaction at work.

Make 2024 the year you take control of your career. This doesn't mean quitting your job without a plan and blowing-up your life (please no). It means taking action to make work work for you. Whether you're uncomfortably coasting or as burnt out as forgotten toast, you always have options. --- Here's how to take action today: 1️⃣ Define the (real) problem: It's not always obvious 2️⃣ Know your goals: Clarify what success looks like 3️⃣ Assess the situation: What's in your control? 4️⃣ Make a (quick) plan: No need for a 5-year strategy 5️⃣ TAKE ACTION: Use this chart as inspiration 6️⃣ Reflect and repeat: Did things improve? You'll not only (finally) solve your problem, but you'll also free up SO much head space. How does that sound? --- P.S. 'Incessantly complain', 'obsess over the problem', and 'do nothing' were intentionally left off this list. 😏 P.P.S. Dream of enjoying work more than you dread it? Follow me for daily inspiration to make that happen. ♻️ Repost to educate your network --- Shoutout to Jessica Luna for the format inspiration!

Top 5 successful leaders who ONLY cared about making money: . . . . . 🦗🦗🦗 --- Sure, if you just want to make money - you can do it. You can find a way to make some short-term profit. But, long-term, sustainable success + satisfaction? That takes more (much more). --- It takes these 3 things to thrive as a leader: 🖤 Purpose: This is your anchor. Without it, you're lost at sea, being pushed around by the waves. ↳ Figure out what you're good at ↳ Find a problem you care about ↳ Use what you're good at to solve the problem --- 👥 People: This is your scalability (and sanity). Without it, you're limited to your existing strengths and ideas. ↳ Figure out what you need to reach your goals ↳ Find people with those skillsets ↳ Partner with them to take action towards the goal --- 📈 Profit: This is your impact + sustenance. Without it, you'll never know what's working (and what's not). ↳ Figure out what success means to you ↳ Find ways to measure it ↳ Adapt until you see real results --- Yes, money is important. Without it, you have a hobby, not a business. But without purpose and people? You just have a bank account. --- ♻️ Think others need to hear this? 80% of your impact comes from 20% of your effort. Everything else? It can be delegated. This doesn't mean your team only gets the grunt work. It means you spend your time on things that: ⇨ Require your unique skills or expertise ⇨ Needed to get done yesterday (If that's EVERYTHING on your plate - well, we've got bigger problems to discuss 🤔) The remaining 80% represents opportunities for your team to learn and develop. --- Not ready to go cold turkey? Set yourself up for future delegation now: ⇨ Create Standard Operating Procedures for routine processes (instructions, checklist, etc.). ⇨ Invite team members to shadow you in meetings and introduce them to key stakeholders. ⇨ Ask reports for feedback on your work to show they understand the goals (and get bonus insights!). Watch your team's engagement skyrocket as they build new skills and generate impact. The only question left: What will you do with all that free time? --- ♻️ Repost to share the knowledge with other leaders 🔔 Follow me for daily tips just like this one!

Your message is too important to get lost in a sea of 'ums' and 'uhs'.
