80% of your impact comes from 20% of your effort. Everything else? It can be delegated. This doesn't mean your team only gets the grunt work. It means you spend your time on things that: ⇨ Require your unique skills or expertise ⇨ Needed to get done yesterday (If that's EVERYTHING on your plate - well, we've got bigger problems to discuss 🤔) The remaining 80% represents opportunities for your team to learn and develop. --- Not ready to go cold turkey? Set yourself up for future delegation now: ⇨ Create Standard Operating Procedures for routine processes (instructions, checklist, etc.). ⇨ Invite team members to shadow you in meetings and introduce them to key stakeholders. ⇨ Ask reports for feedback on your work to show they understand the goals (and get bonus insights!). Watch your team's engagement skyrocket as they build new skills and generate impact. The only question left: What will you do with all that free time? --- ♻️ Repost to share the knowledge with other leaders 🔔 Follow me for daily tips just like this one!
If you think delegation or systems suck, it's not the systems or the delegation that's the problem... Learned that the hard way!
I’ve been delegating to my kids lately. Great place to practice!
One of the most important skills to master is delegation. For employees. For entrepreneurs. Luckily, in my very first corporate job, I HAD to master this skill. Competing deadlines. Complex projects. Moving pieces. No one can do it on their own. Need a team. Alex Stanton
I love how you frame this, Alex: “The remaining 80% represents opportunities for your team to learn and develop.” I haven’t seen this specific point discussed enough. It’s what separates a boss from a leader, and what can make the difference in someone’s career.
Your cheat sheet game is getting stronger my friend. I love the baby steps part you have mentioned. Its showing how you can get started without over whelming yourself. Alex Stanton
I appreciate how you call out the risks, Alex Stanton delegation is a process of growth and empowering others.
Great stuff Alex Stanton When you invest time in training and setting clear goals, you're on the right path to increasing productivity and efficiency.
Delegation not only helps the leader but also empowers the team. It's a win-win! ✨
Alex Stanton great graphic and love the addition of the baby steps at the bottom

9moYou would make a good Agile coach Alex Stanton 😂 . Agile frameworks like Kanban and Scrum enable all of these excellent behaviors. Agile teams are self-organizing, take on more responsibility, and make some decisions themselves. Just kidding about being an Agile coach. You will make a much bigger impact coaching leaders to greatness. Encouraging an Agile mindset in your leadership coaching would enable the leaders you coach to be better leaders.
