Our final staff retreat of 2024 took place yesterday at Koger Center For The Arts in Columbia, SC. 🖼️ At the retreat, we... - learned more about the Koger Center’s history, programming, and their new emphasis on visual arts - participated in a group activity based on our individual strengths - discussed the history and future of the SC State Art Collection with our Public Art Coordinator, Harvee White (including a group brainstorming session) - learned about Arts Center of Kershaw County’s accessible bathroom renovation (a project partially funded by SCAC) from Executive Director Dolly Patton - enjoyed a presentation on Lex2’s new performing arts center (partially funded by SCAC) - and heard from Wilma King a recent SCAC Emerging Artist Grantee, about the works she created as a result of that grant.
