Adapting and Overcoming: Lessons from Building a World Record ❄️ Canceling last year’s Minnesota Ice Festival due to warm weather was one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make. It was a huge emotional and financial hit for our team, but we knew it was the right call to avoid delivering anything less than an extraordinary experience. This year, we’ve adapted, overcome, and come back stronger. With over 18 months of planning and millions of pounds of ice invested, we’ve taken every lesson to heart—testing new methods to keep ice colder longer, improving our scheduling, and bringing on extra overnight crews to ensure we stay on track. We’re now on the verge of breaking the WORLD RECORD for the largest ice maze, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you. This festival isn’t just about a maze or sculptures. It’s about celebrating the boldness and resilience of Minnesota winters. The original Saint Paul Winter Carnival was created to prove that life thrives in the cold, and we’re carrying on that legacy.
