Another day, another incredible volunteer! ⭐ Since 2022, Stefan has been dedicating his time to the Bundesanstalt Technisches Hilfswerk (THW) in Castrop-Rauxel's rescue group. This role demands being on call 24/7, ready to jump into action during emergencies. Every other Saturday, he commits to training, ensuring he's always prepared for any situation. Recently, Stefan has been involved in major operations like securing a dike during a flood and stabilizing a house after a bus crash. His dedication to the community is truly inspiring!

Elves might be a myth, but our robots 🤖 are the real deal! Powered by Siemens Energy's Digital Brain, our robots help us monitor power plant operations, production sites, and even offshore platforms. They ensure things run smoothly in tough weather conditions and boost efficiency, giving us more time to enjoy the holidays ⛄

Whilst many people might be lucky enough to receive a new computer this holiday season, our colleagues have been working hard to give older laptops a second life and support communities in need. 💻 #TeamPurple employees in Canada and Thailand volunteered their personal time to refurbish used laptops and donate them to communities around the world, including schools in Thailand and the Himalayas, indigenous communities in Canada, and Ukrainian refugees. In some cases, this is the first time recipients have had access to their own technology.

When we look through today's calendar door, we see Katharina S., a working student from Erlangen, who dedicated time to volunteer at an elementary school in Zanzibar. She helped teach English to the children, as well as brightening up the school by painting a wall, assisting with food distribution, and visiting an AIDS orphanage, which was a profound experience for her. Thank you, Katharina, for making such a positive impact on the lives of these children. 😊

Opening a door has a very special meaning today. Neil French has an ear and an open heart for often hidden concerns and needs through his work as a volunteer on the Samaritan's Emotional Support Hotline. Tina Lehmann helps autistic children and their families cope with everyday life and provides them with enjoyable experiences at the annual holiday camp through the Autismus Mittelfranken association. Thanks for the energy and support you give 💜

Get ready for a double dose of inspiration on Day 17! In Thailand, our colleagues teamed up with Trash Hero Thailand for a beach and community cleaning in Chonburi, making a significant impact on the local environment. Meanwhile, in Erlangen, Germany, the Talent Network took to the streets for a community cleaning initiative, demonstrating their commitment to improving their local area. From Thailand to Germany, our teams are making a difference, one clean-up at a time. Let's celebrate their efforts and be inspired to contribute to our communities!

A successful energy transition means inpsiring and supporting the energy leaders of the future! ✨ Members of our Black Employee Community hosted more than 75 middle and high school students from St. Petersburg and Orlando (Florida) Youth Energy Academy so they could learn about the energy sector, tour facilities, and complete STEM related activities covering video game coding, wind energy, and circuits 🆒

Opening the door on more amazing volunteering efforts... Dr. Michael Goerz and Marcel Georgi volunteer with their local fire departments, dedicating their free time to community safety. They are part of their respective communities that can mobilize nationwide within hours to support and relieve local emergency forces during crises.Their roles involve extinguishing fires, rescuing people and animals, and responding to natural disasters like floods, snowstorms, and wildfires. 👏

Today the volunteering spotlight falls on Edith Fries, who works in Communications, who dedicated time to volunteering at a sanctuary for exotic primates. 🐒 This sanctuary provides a safe haven for ex-laboratory, ex-pet, and ex-zoo primates that cannot be returned to the wild. Swapping her life in a big city for the rural areas of South Africa, Edith embraced the challenge of constructing and cleaning habitats for the monkeys, as well as giving them the love and attention they deserve. Her dedication highlights the importance of compassion and adaptability.
