With generative AI reshaping industries, the Digital Transformation Committee invited AI experts Denning Tan, Partner at GenAI Fund and Jeany Tan, Chief Strategy Officer at Shieldbase AI to a networking session with CPA Australia members to share practical strategies and real-world applications of generative AI in accounting and finance functions. When it comes to PLG, reverse trial made waves in 2022. Then comes optional and mandatory reverse trial. But there's a third type of reverse trial that isn't talked about. ✨ Triggered Reverse Trial ✨ Unlike optional reverse trial where users can choose whether to start with a free plan or a trial of the premium tier. Unlike mandatory reverse trial where every new user is automatically enrolled in a free trial. Triggered reverse trial activates trial based on usage-based triggers. The trigger can either be based on rules or anomalies: A. Rule-based trigger (Quantitative) Auto-trigger trial activation when specific, measurable thresholds are met. If you run an A/B testing software, the trial could be activated when: - The number of website visitors reaches a specific milestone (Eg. 40,000 visitors) - Total test runs exceed a predetermined limit (Eg. 10 concurrent A/B tests) - Data collection volume approaches a critical threshold (Eg. 50,000 data points analyzed) B. Pattern-based trigger (Qualitative) Auto-trigger trial activation after the user demonstrates a specific behavior pattern that indicates they're likely to benefit from premium features. - The user creates multiple A/B tests - The user tests variations across different pages - The user shows advanced segmentation needs - The user frequently checks detailed statistical significance of test results Triggering trial automatically based on user behavior is not possible until AI started to mature.
