More ≠ better. Loud ≠ powerful. This morning I teared up reading Jay Acunzo’s beautiful reflection on marketing through the lens of a beloved childhood movie, The Snowman. He describes the film as “a gentle hand reaching through the screen to tap you on the heart.” When is the last time your work had that effect? He challenged all of us to be that gentle heart tap, to whisper with meaning instead of constantly looking for new ways to hack people and get attention. Less stunts, gimmicks, shock content, bashing, overhyping. More introspection and heart. More real connection. 🧡 There are no words in The Snowman. The film gently combines beautiful imagery and music to tell a magical story that held me rapt as a child. I remember watching it with a high school boyfriend at Christmas and then, when he missed the magic and scoffed “there aren’t even any words!”, immediately and unapologetically breaking up with him. Sometimes LI feels like that unfortunate boyfriend. Everyone is missing the point. In 2025, can we all agree to put impact and resonance first? Let’s say no to volume-based, checkbox marketing, to the misguided idea that doing more and shouting louder is better. I’m 100% in. ✨

Looking through some of the fun memories from #2024 include some of the perks I received from new relationships with #MarTech vendors like Sendoso... If you happen to get a batch of their delicious cookies, make sure that they're in a safe place away from your Basset Hound! Thanks for the cookies, the learning, and the experiences at the conferences this year! PS - Gifting is one of those high-value marketing tactics that will continue to build strong relationships with key members of your target audiences in 2025 and beyond as other tactics start to decline. Think about it while you have a few weeks off and you watch your kids open their presents on #Christmas morning! ❤️ 🐶 🍪 🎉 #2024memories #Vendors #Perks #Pets #Dogs 🎁 Katie Penner Junior Lartey 🎁 Andrea Kayal Kacie Jenkins 🎁Mary Matton 🎁

I always wanted to be an elf as a kid. And this year, I FINALLY made it. 🙌🏼 This little surprise from my good pals at Sendoso made my day. It’s not just about the gift itself (though it looks incredible and my kids will LOVE building it ....if they don't eat it first); it’s about the thoughtfulness behind it. Thanks to 🎁 Katie, Kacie, Kris and team whole Sendoso team for spreading some holiday cheer (and making my childhood dreams come true in the process)! Yet another creative campaign, y'all! 🙏🏼 😃 And thank you, Tom Blanco, for officially nominating me to elfdom! 🙏🏼 Often it's the smallest gestures that have the biggest impact. This one reminded me how much joy comes from making someone feel seen and appreciated. Thanks, y'all...I needed that. Now, excuse me while I find the nearest toy workshop to report for duty. (And maybe practice my gift-wrapping skills.) Happy Saturday, LinkedIn friends! Your (now elfin) pal 🧝🏼, Pete PS - What’s the most memorable gift you’ve received from a colleague or partner?

Last post before I take a much-needed two week break: remote work WORKS. There may be an extra layer of time and effort when it comes to being connected to your team, but if that's important to you, then you make it happen. We take for granted when we're in an office that we see people every day and connect that dot to "you HAVE to be in person to collaborate and brainstorm." At Sendoso, I've had more collaboration time with my team remotely than I think I've ever had in person. We work hard and we get shit done, just like we would in an office. In fact, I'm *more* dialed in at home because there's fewer distractions (for me) than being in an office. Removing the stress of a commute (arguably unpaid work time) and more minor things like planning lunches, an additional wardrobe (for some of us), finding and/or paying for parking, makes it easier to see why people are fighting RTO so hard. Anyway, I meant for this to be a "yay we had a charcuterie making team Zoom!" But then I remembered lots of people don't get to do this cool stuff so I went off on a rant. So, Happy Chrimis, it's Chrismin, Merry Crisis, and Merry Chrysler to all who celebrate. And happy holidays to the rest! And from my charcuterie board: Merry Christ m a s

Find the pain first. Solve it fast. When Sendoso started... Their easiest wins came from prospects already feeling the pain: - Hours wasted manually sending gifts and swag. - Frustration with boxing, tracking, and logistics. These early adopters didn’t need convincing. They just needed a solution. But what about those who hadn’t felt the pain yet? Sendoso focused on creating demand: - Educating the market. - Sharing case studies and proof points. - Showing how automated gifting drives revenue. This two-pronged approach, targeting pain and creating demand, built a balanced growth engine. The takeaway for sales teams: - Go after prospects already feeling the friction. - Educate those who don’t yet know they have a problem.

We're all competing for customer attention. How do you cut through the noise? Consider gifting. 🎁 A thoughtful gift celebrating a personal milestone once secured me a meeting with an elusive executive sponsor. 🎁 A $10 coffee voucher opened the door to a $500K ARR partnership. 🎁 A delivery of company swag celebrating the launch date had even the CEO wearing our T-shirt on social media. These small gestures pack a punch. In a chat with Kris Rudeegraap, CEO of Sendoso, we discussed how gifts can create powerful connections. It's why he built Sendoso—to simplify gifting and cut through noise. In a sea of inbox clutter, even a token can help you stand out. Now... something very important: Gifting alone won't renew contracts. Real value is irreplaceable. But the right gift at the right time? It opens doors and builds trust. Don't believe me? Some stats on the ROI of Gifting: 🤑 6x call rates 🤑 Double win rates 🤑 Close deals 29% faster My challenge to you next year is: Rethink gifting! • Don't leave it as an afterthought • Bake it into your customer journey • Don't rely on CSMs to have to manually do it Think about it as a part of your engagement strategy. Curious to learn more? I've just recorded a conversation with Kris on leveraging gifts to boost results and revenue. Catch the latest episode of This is Growth!
