Who needs a kitchen hotter than Rudolph’s nose? Let’s keep it chill, cook clever and save energy this holiday season. 1. Potluck Power: Pass out assignments like Santa hands out gifts. Your guests bring a dish, you save energy (and stress). 2. Grill and Chill: Fire up the grill outdoors instead of heating up your oven. Bonus: you can show off those grill marks and keep your kitchen from turning into a sauna! 3. Salad Central: Toss together fresh greens anywhere, anytime. No stove, no sweat, just crunchy goodness. Eat, drink, and be merry — no extra heat required!

Brighten your holiday season with LED lights! Here’s why they shine above the rest: 1. Energy-Saving: LEDs use up to 75% less energy than traditional bulbs. 2. Long-Lasting: Spend less time replacing bulbs and more time enjoying the glow. 3. Planet-Friendly: Reduce your carbon footprint while keeping things merry and bright. Light up the holidays without dimming your eco-conscious spirit!

Last week, San Diego Community Power hosted a celebration of our Power100 Champions, or local businesses who partner with Community Power to receive 100% renewable energy. From Petco Park, the first MLB ballpark in the National League to be powered by 100% renewable energy; to small businesses like Bivouac Ciderworks, who hosted last night's celebration, our Power100 Champions are powering a sustainable future for the San Diego region. It was a pleasure to gather together and celebrate our Power100 Champions and their commitment to a cleaner, greener San Diego. Thank you to all of the Champions who joined us!

San Diego Community Power is proud to support the San Diego Regional Energy Academy, a free, educational program developed by the USD School of Law - Energy Policy Initiatives Center and The San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative that helps local community leaders enhance their knowledge and literacy of the San Diego region's complex #energy landscape. Last month, the program officially launched, and the first ever Energy Academy cohort spent three days learning about our local energy system, how energy impacts the climate, #electrification, #decarbonization and more. Congrats to the entire Energy Academy team on the success of this program!

Congratulations to our first cohort who completed the inaugural San Diego Regional Energy Academy last week! We concluded our program with a field trip to UCSD's energy operations to learn about decarbonization and resilience efforts. Then we heard from oceanographer Dr. Mark Merrifield on the regional effects of heat waves and changing temperatures throughout San Diego County. We ended our day with an interactive tour of San Diego Gas & Electric Resilience Zone, where we tested our newfound knowledge on energy resilience. The Energy Academy would not have succeeded without the help of many collaborators. Thank you to all of our speakers who joined us throughout the program and to our funding partners, San Diego Gas & Electric and San Diego Community Power. Thank you to USD School of Law - Energy Policy Initiatives Center for co-leading with us a great first cohort. We are proud of all our participants and excited to see how they integrate this energy education into their careers and goals!
