Our first #samsales retreat is complete! So, how'd it go?? Here's the rundown of a few key highlights this week and what's ahead for us -
🔥 Mallory, our lead AE, closed FIVE deals in about 27 hours. Nearly 150K in revenue that never happens in one day and we all got to yell/high five her (a lot...).
🚀 We announced a team member's major promotion! Getting to celebrate together was the best, but you'll have to wait until next week when she announces it :).
🥰 In the spirit of making positive impact, we kicked night one off with a visit to a small local bookstore - Politics and Prose Bookstore - spending $500 towards Toys for Tots.
🤓 We hired Paula Castillo, ACC to run StrengthsFinder with us in advance + a half day on-site. Impossibly positive investment in identifying strengths and opps across our team and business.
🎁 The first time I've gotten to deliver our annual holiday gifts to the team, beautifully packaged by Carol, our Dir. of Operations, in person.
🎅 Kim, our head of enablement, worked with our families in advance on a newlywed questions kind of game. Post-dinner, we gathered to play and lost our minds laughing and to do our Secret Santa exchange, packed with Show Me You Know Me thoughtfulness.
🤣 Paige and Kea led us off with a Prestige Worldwide pitch, Carol built a parody of one of our decks into the 482390 things she does for us, Missy sang her job via a bespoke 12 Days of Christmas, Courtney created a six-min video about her job that had us 🤣, Kath/Mallory/Paige got into Crow position and Kea brought out her leg wrestling (because why not?!), and we closed out with dinner Le Diplomate, because you can't miss a meal here, especially during the holidays.
🙋 As for me, I presented on where I've personally been, what led me to start this company, some reflection on our first five years, and where my head is at for the year(s) ahead.
We've once again beat our financials from the previous year, and have put our business in an amazing position to expand (we're hiring(!!) - more on that soon 👏), reinforce process, and continue to develop great outcomes for our clients.
Finally, as a business owner, there were 100 feel good moments in these three days, but I'll share with you one that sticks with me:
Every part of this week felt like a standard corporate off-site, except... it wasn't.
It was for the company I dreamed up, that I boot-strapped, and that this insanely dedicated, intelligent, supportive, hilarious, creative, and badass squad of women have linked arms together to build.
It wasn't someone else's - it was ours.
To look around the room while all the standard off-site work happens, and to know it's for the company you started, for a company you get to run your way, and with all your touches, process, and commitments to being different...well, there is no other feeling quite like it.
❤️
