I’m beyond grateful to be working with Apollo on their Cold Callers for Charity campaign! To maximize your efforts (for charity and quota!), I’m providing 5 tips on the 5th Day of Cold Call Tips to make those cold calls less frosty. ☃️ For the last several years, I’ve spent my days interacting with the biggest and brightest minds in the sales space, picking their brains about every aspect of their process. What I’ve learned through conversations and endless research is something that the best sales reps have known for decades—picking up the phone remains the best way to connect with someone. This video is loaded with some of Orum’s favorite tips about cold calling, but to borrow a move from the great zoë hartsfield, we’re gonna tell you to watch the video to learn them.   • Cold calling for charity? Sign me up. Hey, I’m Jared Robin ⏭. I’ve spent years building RevGenius—one of the largest gtm communities from scratch—and all of it started during COVID, on unemployment, with a simple idea: people rally around connection and authenticity. My takes on cold calling? 1. Sales is love. You’re helping your prospects improve their business, processes, and sales in a meaningful way. 2. Cold calling is an unlock to fast track building relationships with folks you can help build a better future for. 3. Make sure that you understand how you can help them specifically (their role, their specific company, them - don’t guess, know!) and it will help you open up a real and authentic conversation. 4. In combination with building your personal brand on social and being active in communities, it becomes exponentially easier and more potent to reach out for a convo. They may already know who you are, and if you use signals like engagement, be more welcoming than you think. 5. Cold calling is an opportunity to be authentically you - your voice, your personality, and why you truly believe you can help the prospect solve their problems. Take the opportunity to actually connect with them. It’s not just about hitting quotas or landing demos. It’s about starting conversations, building trust, and creating impact. Why should you start cold calling for charity? Because it flips the narrative. You’re not just selling; you’re helping. And when you align your skills with purpose, amazing things happen: ↳ You connect on a human level. ↳ You build trust in a way that transcends “selling”. ↳ You inspire others to rally around a cause. The best time for YOU to call will also depend on knowing your audience. Who are you calling and what do they prefer?
