For 29 years, our employees have held the tradition of adopting angels during the holidays. This year, we kept the spirit alive by donating gifts to our partner organizations: Fowler Unified School District, NATIVE HEALTH, Queen Creek Unified School District, Save the Family Foundation of Arizona and The Salvation Army Southwest Division

Why do we use natural gas to support the electric grid as we transition to a future powered by renewables? Think about a hybrid car. 🚘 Much of the time, SRP relies on renewables and batteries to provide power to our customers, similar to how my hybrid uses electricity for everyday errands. However, there are times when we need more power than renewable energy can provide—like on a hot, cloudy day or, in our hybrid analogy, an unexpected trip to my mother-in-law’s in far North Scottsdale. In these moments, access to gas ensures I get to my mother-in-law’s when she needs me. And for SRP, it means we keep the lights on and the A/C running on a hot Arizona summer day.
