We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Chris Wimsatt, MBA as the new Assistant Director at the Sacramento County Department of Airports. Wimsatt’s exceptional leadership and proven track record in the aviation industry make him ideally suited for the role of Assistant Director. Since joining SCDA in August 2021 as Deputy Director of Finance and Administration, Wimsatt has spearheaded several groundbreaking initiatives, including: 🔹 Successfully completing the airport’s first new-money bond deal in over 12 years.  🔹 Spearheading the financing strategies for SMForward, a $1.3 billion capital improvement program comprising seven transformative projects.  🔹 Transitioning Sacramento International Airport to an alternate customer facility charge (CFC) collection model, increasing monthly collections by nearly $800,000.  🔹 Advocating for policy changes, including securing grant enhancements in the FAA Reauthorization Act and updating California law to preserve rental car facility fees. Yesterday, Caltrans and local leaders celebrated the completion of the critical I-5 Auxiliary Lanes Project in Sacramento, significantly improving travel to and from SMF. Our Director, Cindy Nichol, was honored to speak at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Sacramento County Department of Airports is pleased to invite proposals for operating a café and bar & restaurant at Sacramento International Airport (SMF), located pre-security within Terminal B. We aim to enter into a Food and Beverage Concession Agreement with an operator to remodel, operate, and maintain these spaces for our airport customers and employees. The opportunity consists of two connected concession spaces totaling approximately 3,700 square feet.
