Four airports comprise the Sacramento County Department of Airports:  - Sacramento International Airport – Focuses on passenger aviation  - Mather Airport – Focuses on cargo aviation  - Executive Airport – Focuses on general aviation  - Franklin Field – Focuses on general aviation training activities Each of the airports support the others in the system by having a strategic focus. This enables the airports to focus on the uses that are best suited for their facilities, services and customers. Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is your gateway between Northern California destinations and major cities across the U.S. and the world. Located 12 miles from downtown Sacramento and always open, service is available from 12 major carriers.
