The Office for Research is proud to have supported Eileen Carry, PhD and Ariane Vasilatis, Ph.D. on their commercialization path to launching Zena Therapeutics Inc. Learn more about how the Office for Research can support your work by visiting research.rutgers.edu. #RutgersResearch
Two Rutgers alumnae are pioneering a groundbreaking anxiety treatment that could revolutionize mental health care and save lives. Ariane Vasilatis, left, (SEBS'21) and Eileen Carry (EMSOP'21), right, cofounders of Zena Therapeutics, have developed a novel compound that addresses a critical gap in current anxiety medications. Unlike benzodiazepines such as Xanax or Valium, which can be fatal when mixed with opioids or alcohol, this innovative treatment maintains its efficacy without increasing overdose risk. This breakthrough could transform the landscape of anxiety treatment, offering a safer alternative for millions of patients.
