Our Rocket Community Fund team doesn't just drive all community impact initiatives for Rocket Companies team members... they lead by example! Recently, our team volunteered alongside Rocket Mortgage team members at Make Food Not Waste, an innovative Detroit-based nonprofit transforming how our city thinks about food waste and food security. Their mission is twofold: ensuring surplus food reaches people who need it while developing sustainable solutions to prevent food waste altogether. Our volunteers worked together during "Chop and Chat" to sort, prep and package fresh, quality food that would otherwise go to waste, helping to redirect it to Detroit families. This hands-on experience highlighted how simple actions can create meaningful impact in addressing both food insecurity and environmental sustainability in our community. This is what it means to be For More Than Profit – taking direct action to build more resilient communities. (📷 Bryan Beran-Miceli, Rachel Ableser, Maria Reinbold, Amber Wenturine)

Supporting our community is what drives our mission to build opportunity and help everyone home. The Rocket Mortgage Classic is a catalyst for change. In 2020, the tournament's landmark "Changing the Course" initiative sought to awareness and much-needed funding to bridge the digital divide in Detroit - once considered the least connected city in the United States. Today, Detroit is considered a model for digital inclusion. It's thanks to initiatives like Changing the Course - and the programs and partnerships it helped seed, like Connect 313 - that we are making meaningful progress on our mission to build a more digitally included community. To date, RMC has contributed over $5.9M for digital inclusion efforts alone. This year's total $1.5M, with over half committed to support Connect 313, Black Tech Saturdays and Human-I-T! The #RocketMortgageClassic and Rocket Mortgage are proud to announce that we raised nearly $1.5 million to support local Detroit nonprofits in 2024, pushing the tournament’s total charitable contributions since its inception in 2019 to nearly $10 million. Our Rocket Companies team members continue to inspire us with their passion for supporting our communities. Meet Jennifer Martinez, Sr. Team Leader and rockstar volunteer. For eight amazing years, she has volunteered as a mentor with TutorMate through Chapter One, a company-sponsored volunteer opportunity that supports literacy efforts. Jennifer's volunteer efforts aren't just about tutoring - it's about building confidence, one student at a time. "Helping a child become confident in their reading skills is crucial to their success in school and beyond," Jennifer shared. "Watching them progress throughout the year is inspiring. Meeting my mentees at the end of the year is the icing on the cake!" Thank you to community champions like Jennifer, who lead by example in their dedication to making a difference!

We're proud to announce that 96 more Detroit families are becoming homeowners through our Make It Home program! Since 2017, we've helped over 1,600 Detroit residents transition from renters to homeowners, preventing displacement and creating pathways to generational wealth. Today, we're committing an additional $700,000 to support this year's homeowners and provide ongoing home repair assistance. We are grateful to City of Detroit and United Community Housing Coalition for their continued partnership. They purchase tax-foreclosed properties before auction, allowing residents to purchase their homes through 0% interest payment plans. Make It Home is integral to our housing stability strategy, and our shared mission with Rocket Companies to help everyone home. A very special thank you to Gwen Gell, Elizabeth Sorce and of course, Laura Grannemann for their dedication to this vision. Together with our partners, we're transforming a system that once led to displacement into one that builds stronger, more stable Detroit neighborhoods! Learn More: https://bit.ly/3CDMoGF

Yesterday I was officially welcomed to Michigan Chronicle 40 under 40 honoree class of 2024. It would be an understatement for me to say that this wasn’t huge to me. To be celebrated by black leaders across the city was wholesome! To be recognized for the work that I do, for the ones I do it for gives me so much encouragement to continue the fight! Thank you to everyone who continually support, challenge and stretch me. It doesn’t go unnoticed and this award is a product of all of the ones that continue to impact me. #MC40under40

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been accepted into the 2024 Ohio cohort of The Diversity in Leadership Program, Inc. ! This exceptional program unites higher education, community organizations, and employers to deliver a comprehensive experience that sharpens both professional skill sets and mindset. Through courses offered by top universities’ business schools, I’ll be diving into disciplines like business analytics, finance, strategic thinking, and leadership communications. Alongside executive coaching and hands-on “Gate Projects,” this program will empower me with the tools and network needed to thrive in today’s ever-evolving landscape. What excites me most is how this program aligns with my passion for driving meaningful social impact. I’m eager to deepen my understanding of the social impact industry and apply this education to help address some of the world’s most complex challenges. By integrating these lessons into my work, I hope to contribute solutions that foster equity, innovation, and transformational change. A big thank you to Leon A. Jackson, Ph.D., MBA, and the DIL team for this opportunity. I can’t wait to grow as a leader and continue championing initiatives that make a difference.
