A home away from home for families with seriously ill children being treated in the Texas Medical Center.
About us
Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Houston offers a home away from home providing care, compassion and hope to families with seriously ill children being treated in Texas Medical Center member institutions. We are proud to offer a safe and loving environment to all families of children facing a life-threatening condition, including those in need of an organ transplant or fighting cancer. Additionally, through our Care Mobile program we offer school aged children access to healthcare (like immunizations) right in their own neighborhood.

Thank you to all of the organizations that participated in our Second Annual Holiday Tree Contest! Our halls were decked with so many festive and original trees, and our resident families voted for their favorite tree. First Place went to Lockton for their tree of sweets, Second Place went to the Houston SaberCats Rugby for their Moana-themed tree, and Third Place was a Wicked-themed tree, complete with yellow brick road, entered by Pelican Energy Partners LP. Our families, staff and volunteers love ALL the contributed trees that brighten the halls of Holcombe House, and we are so thankful for everyone who took part in our contest! Thank you to BDO USA for providing all the supplies for our families to create festive wreaths for their doors. When you're far from home during the holidays, these personal touches can help make the season bright!

We are beyond grateful for the incredible support of the CVS Health and Aetna, a CVS Health Company teams for a meaningful Day of Service at Holcombe House! More than 30 dedicated volunteers came together, bringing their time, talent and treasure to help families with a seriously sick child. The day started with an incredibly generous $100,000 donation and a pile of holiday gifts, specifically selected for our teen and tween residents. Then, the volunteers split into groups and got to work. One group assembled cookie-decorating kits for our families to enjoy, another group packed toiletry bags with full-sized products donated by CVS. Their generosity and service didn't stop there - they wrapped up their incredible day by serving a delicious Fajita Pete's lunch - even making sure that our hospital locations received food. The dedication, hard work and generosity displayed throughout the day were truly inspiring. Thank you to everyone involved, but especially Sharon Ions, Simone Simon Gardner, Thea Jackson, Tiffany Riggs for creating this unforgettable day of service!
