A McGregor High School graduate, Johannah brings a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to care, aiming to foster connection and resilience. She holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of St. Thomas and has valuable experience in mental health and social services. Johannah is thrilled to return to the area, reconnect with family, and support our community. Meet Dr. Josh Horowitz: Adventurer, Outdoorsman, and Interventional Spine Physician at Riverwood Healthcare Center Before entering medical school in his 30s, Dr. Horowitz had already lived a life full of adventure. He earned his pilot’s license at 19, flew helicopters and airplanes, built homes, and worked on a commercial halibut fishing boat in Alaska. After medical training at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Vanderbilt University, he found his home in Northern Minnesota. Dr. Horowitz’s passion for adventure shapes his life outside the clinic. Whether he’s flying float planes, scuba diving in exotic locations, or trekking through the wilderness with his horses, he’s always in pursuit of a new story. His latest adventure? A 10-day moose hunt in the remote backcountry of Northern British Columbia. He and a lifelong friend embarked on an unforgettable journey into the mountains, encountering grizzly bears and securing a record-breaking moose. Raised on a ranch in Idaho, Dr. Horowitz’s love for the outdoors is a family tradition. From horseback riding through rugged mountains to competing in rodeos, he continues to live life to the fullest while balancing the demands of his medical career. For Dr. Horowitz, life is about “living a good story.” And with every adventure, he’s writing the next chapter. What’s next for Dr. Horowitz? One thing’s for sure—it’ll be a story worth telling.
