Protecting one child through vaccination can safeguard an entire family—and impact whole communities. This #EpidemicPreparednessDay, we are celebrating Crystal Perez, a steward who is bringing vital immunization services to schools in Allentown, PA. Recognizing that community health is interconnected, Crystal started an in-school vaccination program that helped to build trust in the Allentown community and close glaring care gaps. Thanks to her leadership, last year Allentown School District experienced 100% compliance with state immunization requirements for the first time. We're excited to share a timely article by The Rippel Foundation, "A State Unites Around Vital Conditions for All to Thrive: Healthy Communities Delaware (HCD)" on the depth of our partnership. With support from Rippel, we are maximizing our community investments, furthering capacity building efforts, and building the field for a unified outlook on equity. Alignment with Rippel has allowed us to ramp up quickly over the past 5 years and make headway to improve the Vial Conditions in Delaware. “Rippel helped us grasp clear concepts, clear language, and clear tools that we can use to do the things that we already wanted to do but would have spent a lot of time trying to workshop ourselves. It was an accelerator.” -Kate Dupont Phillips, HCD Executive Director. Read the full article to see how this partnership has advanced our work. We’d love to hear from you—how has this collaboration influenced your work or community? The murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson is shocking, upsetting, and yet another tragic example of our systems’ failures to create the conditions all people need to thrive. But we CAN do differently – we CAN bridge differences, find ways to move beyond divisiveness, and work together to reshape our systems to truly serve all. In an article in STAT, Rippel board member Elliott Fisher discusses how we all have a role to play in creating change, working together as interdependent stewards to create a future where everyone truly thrives. https://lnkd.in/e2JhfAcQ
Insurance companies like United Healthcare are not the only ones to blame for a broken system

Home care workers play a crucial role in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of our communities. Despite their vital contributions, they face significant challenges such as low wages, limited benefits, high injury rates, and unpredictable schedules. Many of these workers are BIPOC and immigrant women, meaning these issues often compound existing inequities and further marginalize these communities. Enhancing their working conditions is not only vital for the care economy but also for the overall health of our communities. Rippel’s Healing Home Care initiative aims to elevate the status of home care workers by gathering a team that will work to elevate their safety and well-being. This initiative is a partnership with the US FEDERATION OF WORKER COOPERATIVES and brings together home care workers, advocacy groups, healthcare institutions, and policymakers to work towards greater dignity for these essential workers. Join us this National Family Caregivers Month in recognizing the invaluable contributions of home care workers and supporting initiatives that prioritize their dignity and well-being. And, stay tuned for more information and updates on the Healing Home Care initiative in the new year! #NationalFamilyCaregiversMonth #HealingHomeCare #vitalconditions #thrivingtogether
