As the College Football Playoff kicks off, we share in the excitement building among football fans. If you choose to bet on the playoff, it's important to remember that #ResponsibleGaming is the best way to keep gaming fun and recreational. In 2025, ROGA is rolling out a college educational campaign which will focus on promoting responsible gaming concepts to university students. Our campaign will emphasize that, just like budgeting and saving, practicing responsible gaming is part of a well-rounded understanding of financial literacy, decision-making, and risk-taking.

The Responsible Online Gaming Association (ROGA)’s Advisory Committee member David Rebuck testified at today’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing and highlighted ROGA’s mission to identify and share evidence-based best practices for #ResponsibleGaming. Online sports betting is a relatively new industry that continues to change rapidly. Though the industry is fast-moving, operators are already taking proactive steps to deploy effective responsible gaming tools and initiatives that ensure gaming remains fun and recreational. ROGA remains committed to supporting innovative responsible gaming solutions and fostering collaboration with our partners like David Rebuck to drive progress.

This year’s NCLGS Winter Meeting in New Orleans examined the evolving landscape of online gaming. Though legal online sports betting is new to many U.S. jurisdictions, state-level regulators and legislators have decades of experience regulating the gaming sector. State legislators and regulators understand the importance of #ResponsibleGaming, and the Responsible Online Gaming Association (ROGA) is ready to serve as a resource in supporting efforts to identify evidence-based best practices to strengthen responsible gaming initiatives. We at ROGA commend our Louisiana colleagues Marisa Beard, Suzanne Bourgeois, Ronnie Jones, and Don Pledger for sharing their model for promoting responsible gaming and taking a collaborative approach to keeping gaming fun and recreational.

The Responsible Online Gaming Association is excited to announce an important new development in our mission to protect players and drive industry best practices around #ResponsibleGaming in creating an independent data clearinghouse to provide a more holistic view of players. As ROGA works to advance innovation in the responsible gaming space in the United States, this effort towards an industry-wide protection mechanism for consumers is an important first step. The primary focus of the initial effort will enable self-exclusion of players to be enacted across all ROGA members.
