Thank you. For helping our youth learn new skills, experience new activities, visit new places, and build meaningful relationships. Thank you for bringing joy to so many students. Thanks to you, we've raised $92,000 (and counting!) between our 29th anniversary and GivingTuesday campaigns. We are truly blown away by the generosity and support of our community. If you're looking to make an #impact and bring #joy to youth this holiday season, there's still time to help us reach our $100,000 fundraising goal before the end of the year! We have two individual donors who have pledged to match that dollar-for-dollar. That's $200,000 for R.O.C.K. students and families in 2024! Big news! We are thrilled to share that R.O.C.K. is the winner of the first-ever UpMetrics #SocialImpactShowcase! We're grateful for the generosity of the UpMetrics team and so excited to continue to analyze and track our data with their guidance and support.
Major #SocialImpactShowcase update 🤩 ! After our panel of judges had the chance to meet and hear directly from our six nonprofit finalists last week, we are delighted to announce that we have a winner for our first ever Showcase: Real Options for City Kids (R.O.C.K.)! Congratulations 🎉 to Executive Director Curt Yagi, Deputy Director Hanna Doerr, and the rest of the R.O.C.K. team for this historic win! As the winner, R.O.C.K. was also awarded a $50,000 grant to help further their mission of supporting at-risk youth in Visitacion Valley, CA, through uplifting sports and fitness programs, outdoor adventures, and nurturing school-based support. Here's some #FeelGoodFriday content for your feed 🥹 Lil' Kid Camp. Saturday Skill Drills. Whitewater rafting. Some of our alumni's most memorable experiences decades ago are the same R.O.C.K. activities changing lives today. While our programs have expanded greatly, our model and mission remain the same: to meet our students where they're at—right here in our community—and listen intently to their needs so we can provide the most impactful services possible. We want every child who comes through our doors to try something new, visit a new place, learn a new skill, and have a safe place to simply be a kid. Our 10,000+ alumni are a testament to our work, and 30 years later we're still going strong! Outdoor educators, senior cyber security engineers, youth development workers, plumbers, aspiring film producers, deputy sheriffs. We are so proud of each and every one of our alumni, and we can't wait to see the futures our current students build for themselves in the years to come. Cheers to 30 more years of happy, healthy, successful R.O.C.K.ers! If you'd like to help ensure our programs are strong and sustainable for decades to come, please make a donation at www.givebutter.com/rock30

As part of the San Francisco Examiner's #Thanksgiving publication, staff writer Allyson Aleksey composed a piece that speaks to the deep, full-circle impact that R.O.C.K. has on the Visitacion Valley Community. In this article, Tristan Warmsley, R.O.C.K. alumna and Site Coordinator at Visitacion Valley Elementary School, shares about her experience growing up in our District 10 neighborhood and reflects on how her students today face many of the same struggles. Tristan and Executive Director Curt Yagi both agree that consistency is key for the youth we serve, and the more we can engage families and support the whole child, the more impactful our programs and #CommunitySchool model will be. Check out the article to see how our research-backed programs are helping San Francisco youth thrive. https://lnkd.in/gvD3whj5
