Today (December 31) is the last day to make a tax-deductible donation in 2024. We hope you will consider making a sustaining contribution to support students' access to literacy education. Reading Partners would not exist without the financial contributions of generous donors and volunteers like you. Donate: https://lnkd.in/eWQVbsqk Wishing you a safe and happy new year!

Literacy unlocks opportunity.
About us
Reading Partners empowers community volunteers to provide one-on-one reading instruction to elementary school students reading below grade level to help them succeed in reading and in life. We are a national education nonprofit working with Title I elementary schools to support students who are reading six months to two-and-a-half years below grade level. Reading Partners recruits and trains more than 15,000 community volunteers, annually, to deliver a highly effective, research-validated curriculum. GOING TO SCALE • Reading Partners received a highly competitive growth investment from the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation and the Social Innovation Fund. Reading Partners is also managing a second Social Innovation Fund sub-grant supported by Mile High United Way in Colorado. • This investment helped Reading Partners grow from a few schools in California to over 160 schools across eight states and the District of Columbia. Throughout this growth, our student outcomes have remained consistently strong. NATIONAL SERVICE Reading Partners is a proud partner with the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). Our reading centers and outreach efforts are powered by 220 dedicated AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps VISTA volunteers, now outnumbering our full time staff. OUR IMPACT Reading Partners is dedicated to ensuring that each student gains the critical reading skills they need to prepare them for academic, social, and civic success. That’s why monitoring and evaluation are core to the Reading Partners model. To learn more about our impact and third party evaluation, visit: http://readingpartners.org/our-impact/program-impact/

Seeing our students' smiling faces reminds us that it doesn’t take much effort to have a big impact on someone’s life. This winter season, let’s remind kids that there’s hope and kindness in this world. Make a donation to bring books, resources, and literacy tutoring to kids. https://lnkd.in/eWQVbsqk

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy recently signed into law the Freedom to Read Act, a move that restricts book bans and ensures that the state's students will have access to diverse and inclusive literature. Our CEO and resident New Jerseyan, Adeola Whitney, commends this act and highlights the work we're doing with GreenLight Fund Greater Newark to ensure kids can see themselves in the books they read while they strengthen their literacy skills. https://lnkd.in/enbe2AP8

The three of us were drawn to Teach For America because of our fundamental belief that all children deserve nothing short of an excellent education. We want to see a reality where all children have access to the high-quality educational resources they need to succeed. As far as we're concerned, ONE DAY cannot come fast enough. This is why we have dedicated our careers and our lives to the pursuit of educational equity, and why we all now serve on the national board of a literacy nonprofit, Reading Partners. Similar to Teach For America, those at Reading Partners believe that reading is a civil right, and when students have the educational access they need to develop strong literacy skills, they are able to unlock their full potential in school and beyond. Now, as the year comes to a close, we’re leaning on our communities for support. A donation to Reading Partners will help the organization connect more students with caring tutors so the students can increase their literacy skills and confidence at a critical time in their educational journeys. Make a difference by donating today. Together we read, forever we rise. https://lnkd.in/g9ia2_gi

We know that literacy is essential for kids’ learning. But what about adults? Spending time with books in your adulthood has a ton of benefits, including setting a good example for young readers in your life. Here’s how to start or get back into the habit of reading. https://lnkd.in/eMt5dCpD
