  • We hope you can join us for Engender: Places of Power, Queer Asterisk’s Virtual Gala on October 17! This year’s event will be a celebration of queer brilliance, resilience, and empowerment, featuring insightful conversations from our team of queer and trans counselors, a community ceremony and performances, and presentations from three remarkable artists who are shaping the landscape of creativity, spirituality, and justice. Yvie Oddly: Winner of *RuPaul’s Drag Race* Season 11, Yvie Oddly is a boundary-pushing drag performer and artist. With her bold, unconventional style, Yvie captivates audiences worldwide. She will speak on queer empowerment, sharing her journey as a fierce advocate for self-expression and creativity.   Ash Ruiz: Spiritual teacher and musician Ash Ruiz has spent over 20 years guiding others in connecting with their true selves. A former member of Latin sensation Menudo, Ash now blends music and mysticism to inspire transformation. At *Engender*, he will perform an original song that speaks to the heart of our community.   Kerrie Joy: Poet, singer-songwriter, and Adams County’s Poet Laureate, Kerrie Joy channels her artistry into empowering others through poetry and song. Known for her powerful storytelling, Kerrie will share a spoken word poem that reflects her deep commitment to social justice and self-love. Register here: https://lnkd.in/gDkEgXBJ

  • 🚨EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨 We hope you can join us for Engender: Places of Power, Queer Asterisk’s FREE Virtual Gala on October 17! ENGENDER: Places of Power is about locating where power lives within us and the collective strength we harness as queer and trans individuals. In a world that often challenges our identities, we must recognize and celebrate the places—both within ourselves and in our communities—where we find empowerment and healing. This year, Places of Power encourages us to look within and around us, finding spaces where we can stand strong, support one another, and thrive. Your participation in Engender will contribute to a shared energy that will continue to uplift and empower our community long after the night is over.
