QBI has launched the Research and Engineering to Accelerate Discovery (READY) Center, led by Dr. Lee Spraggon, PhD and QBI Director Dr. Nevan Krogan. This biomedical center merges academic and industry expertise to unravel disease biology and speed up therapeutic development. Using innovative genome engineering, including CRISPR, the READY Center will build a comprehensive map of human protein interactions in infectious diseases, cancer, and neurological disorders. The center is also collaborating with the University of California, San Francisco Department of Psychiatry on a $13.7M CIRM-funded project led by QBI Investigator Dr. Tomasz Jan Nowakowski. QBI is looking for an experienced Financial Services Analyst who will be responsible for a broad spectrum of professional accounting services that support the department. Accounting activities include allocation of expenses by account, monitoring of and reporting on expenses for the department accounts, executing and monitoring recharge activities, purchasing and fiscal year closing activities. The incumbent is responsible for developing, modifying as needed, and controlling all accounting processes, analyzes project costs, monitoring all department funds for lapsing and overdrafts, and providing ad hoc expense reports. The position will be responsible for the interpretation and proper implementation of UC policy and procedures relative to account management and purchasing.
