#NEWS: Today marks a significant milestone as we announce our new #AI collaboration with Amgen! Alongside our existing collaborations with Pfizer and the NIH, this collaboration will go such a long way in helping us advance drug discovery and bring more cures to patients. Amidst much AI hype and a difficult market backdrop, the whole team has pushed hard over these last 4 years to prove the value of our AI platform on real discovery programs, with multiple partners, across multiple therapeutic areas. Thanks to the brilliant scientists, BD team, and Legal at Amgen who worked with us to make this happen. About us
Machine Learning for Drug Discovery. PostEra is building a modern 21st century biopharma. We're using our advances in machine learning to accelerate Medicinal Chemistry and bring more cures to patients. PostEra advances small molecule programs through partnerships with biopharma while also advancing its own internal pipeline. We've raised $26M from top investors and closed $1Bn in AI partnerships, signing multi-year agreements with Amgen, Pfizer and the NIH. PostEra also launched and helped lead the world's largest open-science drug discovery effort; COVID Moonshot.

5 years in, we're a little older, hopefully a little wiser, and still aboard the PostEra rollercoaster. Thanks to my two excellent cofounders for another year of riding the highs and lows as we build towards PostEra's mission 💊 ... 📰 P.S. Keep an eye out for some new PostEra highs to be announced in the coming weeks!

A great reading insight from Aaron Morris at PostEra. Very inspiring article touching on the transformation fundamentals of AI in drug discovery... Would be so happy to get the viewpoint on this from some of my chemistry colleagues! #LifeHubLyon #DigitalTransformation #AIinDrugDiscovery
Generative ML in chemistry is bottlenecked by synthesis https://lnkd.in/eBUDkwat why is generative ML in small molecules so slow? the answer is likely obvious to chemists: creating the chemicals in the first place is challenging. i sketch this argument out in this post

Hot off the press Science Advances paper from Pfizer and PostEra 🔥 💡 PostEra's AI approach was able to make rapid progress on a first in class target, achieving in vivo efficacy in under 8 months of chemistry. 💡 This is, to our knowledge, the first time a pharma company has independently tracked and externally published the progress of a partner's AI-driven approach on a program. What you'll notice is the teams' focus not just on leveraging PostEra's machine learning, but the criticality of a well-oiled CRO and logistics gameplan and a smooth partnership between PostEra's chemistry and Pfizer's structural biology and assay teams. Really a team effort. Take a read ➡ https://lnkd.in/gvW6aTQ2 #drugdiscovery #biotech #pharma #machinelearning

Our most recent onsite was the 6th PostEra has done as a company. We've been remote-first since inception (and continue to benefit from the oft cited advantages it offers), but we introduced onsites to help manage some of the interpersonal loss that is the price of remote work. A couple of key learnings we've found over the past 2 years: - IRL People like IRL People: Blatantly obvious, but it's much easier to build meaningful rapport and friendship with colleagues when you're in-person. The serendipity of 'water cooler' conversation helps not only with forming connections, but also passing around ideas between team members that may get trapped in the zoom silos of remote work. - Sprints haven't really worked: We’ve struggled to get real long term value from these, quite contrary to expectations. Sprints around new, blue sky ideas usually end up with cool MVP solutions but momentum usually doesn’t translate once ordinary remote life continues. Any pre-existing tasks that we sprint on can get done fine but not meaningfully better than the remote setting they originated in. - Protect leaders from meetings: In person can be a great time for strategic planning and retrospectives, but team members don’t want their managers constantly being pulled into meetings by the founders, especially when the manager is trying to build meaningful culture and rapport within their own team. As such we have a leadership day appended to our onsites where all the planning and reviews can be dealt with before the broader company arrives. We fill onsite agendas only with things that can be achieved much better in person, and over time these onsites have become a core rhythm of the company that the team frequently notes as highlights of the PostEra year.

“As medicinal chemists and drug hunters, we have an opportunity to make significant and positive change. It is critical that we educate ourselves and others — that we research and support women’s healthcare.” In honor of International Day of Action for Women's Health, GV advisor Wendy Young calls for the prioritization of women’s health research in ACS Publications' Journal of Medicinal Chemistry.
