Thanks to Matt Cool's generosity (Yes his surname totally fits the bill), I got to attend the Mozilla.ai 's AI Science Fair + Networking Reception in SF yesterday. Here are five of the coolest projects I encountered that you can use right now! 1: Blueprints - "Blueprints are your gateway to building AI-powered solutions with confidence. With step-by-step guidance, modular design, and open-source tools, we make AI accessible for developers of all skill levels". ( https://lnkd.in/guNxTyXi ). The starter code for building an open variant of NotebookLM was run by Stefan French (PM Mozilla.ai) 2: pleias (World’s first LLMs trained on exclusively open data): Trained by Pierre-Carl Langlais & Anastasia Stasenko - Kudos & much love for your vision! Tyler Xuan Saltsman Check their models out for your edge-AI use cases. 3: Ente photos (E2E encrypted variant of Google Photos - From my hometown Bangalore!) : Brainchild of Vishnu Mohandas (Ritesh Ahuja you may find this right up your alley) 4: Plastic Labs - Memory layer for LLM-powered chatbots - Created by Courtland Leer & Vince Trost - Waiting for the cool UI-sliders to drop ;) Taranjeet Singh - You may find this project aligned with your interests! 5: The Ersilia non-profit organization by Miquel Duran-Frigola ( michael raspuzzi - Talk to them. Their motto is literally "Open source initiative for global health" Last but not the least, also got to bump into Diego Marcos, the 3D guru, in person. So, dodging the quake & tsunami warnings to drive up to the city turned out to be worth the effort.
