On Dec. 9, PFI submitted comments on the FDA’s Pre-Market Animal Food Ingredient Review Programs. PFI worked with its members to develop consensus on the comments, which FDA requested to determine potential changes needed to support efficiency in its ingredient review pathways. PFI members concur that it is critical to maintain the current rigorous safety standards but that certain changes are needed to modernize the processes. Pet Food Institute reposted this
Pet Food Institute is proud to have a fantastic team working in Colombia promoting U.S. pet food exports through our USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) Market Access Program. This GAIN report highlights the partnership between USDA's SaborUSA Colombia and PFI to create "Petween," a social media contest encouraging participants to share photos of their pets while educating them about the benefits of U.S. pet food. The report also includes helpful market information on pet food and pet trends in Colombia. Many thanks to FAS for sharing this GAIN report; we look forward to continuing our work in Colombia and many other markets!
