GAPFA aims to harness the collective experience of the global pet food industry and key external stakeholders to promote science-based guidelines to promote commercial pet food as a safe commodity by respecting sanitary safety and thereby safeguarding world trade of pet food products and pet food samples. 🌎 To this end, GAPFA supports the application of appropriate principles requirements for use by the pet food industry to aid in the protection of importing countries from the introduction of foreign diseases and pathogens, without imposing unnecessary sanitary and trade barriers. At the GAPFA Annual Meetings in Minneapolis last week, the General Assembly elected a new Board of Directors and appointed Loretta Hunter (Nestlé Purina North America) as GAPFA’s President, and Ursula Huber (FEDIAF - The European Pet Food Industry) as GAPFA’s Vice-President for Member Associations.   GAPFA warmly thanks Carlos A. Gonzalez (Hill's Pet Nutrition) for his leadership as President over the past two years and looks forward to continuing to benefit from his experience in his new role as Vice-President for Member Companies.
