CompStat enables law enforcement agencies to maximize effectiveness and efficiency through pattern recognition, proactive planning, and quantifiable performance metrics. But CompStat programs can be complex and tedious to manage. Peregrine allows CompStat facilitators, analysts, and command staff to ask the best, most nuanced questions of their data using real-time information. Senior Law Enforcement Advisor Leonard Nerbetski - Captain, New Jersey State Police(ret) wrote a blog post exploring the possibilities of CompStat with Peregrine. As this year draws to a close, we're looking back at 2024 with humble gratitude, and we're preparing to take on 2025 with eagerness, determination, and excitement for the future of Peregrine. The last year brought our team more growth and learning than we could have predicted, and we're ready to level-up even more in the year ahead. To our partners, team members, and community: Thank you for being here. We're wishing you all a happy New Year.

The Livermore Police Department manages data from a variety of sources, and officers once had to sift through multiple disparate systems to identify, gather, and connect critical case information. With Peregrine, Livermore police officers now need just one screen and one search to access all the data they need — regardless of where that data lives. Revisit the Livermore PD's journey with Peregrine to learn how effective data integration has streamlined the agency's data management processes: https://hubs.li/Q030ylGM0

Comprehensive public safety requires all branches of government to collaborate effectively. Data integration is key to that collaboration. Peregrine and the National League of Cities brought together leaders from city government, law enforcement, and academia to discuss how interagency collaboration enhances public safety. Check out the webinar — featuring Capt. James Nakayama, Chief Susan Manheimer (ret.), Katie Ward, and Jeffrey Butts — at the link below. 👇 https://hubs.li/Q030yc8h0

Once the most violent U.S. city per capita, San Pablo, California, has seen a dramatic decrease in crime in recent years. That includes an 80% reduction in gun crime since 2011. San Pablo Police Chief Brian Bubar credits this crime rate drop in part to his department's investment in new technology — including data integration via Peregrine. In fact, the San Pablo PD was instrumental in Peregrine's formation and is now one of our longest-held partners. Learn how the San Pablo PD leveraged modern tech to turn crime on its head in a new article from Police1: https://hubs.li/Q030hcb10

We've come so far since Ben and Nick took a chance on building a company — and we've still got a long road ahead of us. The last year brought inspiring wins, invaluable lessons, and incredible growth, and we're looking to the future with excitement and imagination. Still, no matter where the coming years take us, our co-founders' core ethos will remain at the heart of Peregrine: Our customers are our close partners.
What was the most unexpected, hardest part of starting a company? Seven years ago today, Nick and I set out to build something from scratch. The hardest part? The overwhelming ambiguity on day one. - No one tells you what to build. - No one can say what will be valuable. - No one guarantees that today’s work gets you closer to success. Our lives are filled with structure—school, sports, work. Starting a company? You throw that out the window. We found clarity by embedding and remaining as close as possible to the customer. We still hold that ethos today. For over a year, we worked cases side by side with detectives in the San Pablo Police Department’s homicide unit. We learned from them and built Peregrine to answer one simple but profound question when conducting an investigation: What happened?

Budget constraints and staffing shortages once left the Modesto Police Department struggling to maintain a 24/7 real-time crime center (RTCC) on the ground. The agency's solution? Taking to the skies. Sky 1, a fixed-wing aircraft, flies to provide coverage when the Modesto PD's terrestrial RTCC isn't live. The department uses Peregrine onboard Sky 1 to integrate data from multiple sources, including automated license plate recognition systems, automatic vehicle location information, computer-aided dispatch data, and video footage from the aircraft itself. The California Police Chiefs Association published this full story in its winter magazine. Learn more here: https://hubs.li/Q0306YMt0
