Growing up in Zurich, Switzerland was a gift for many reasons. One of the big ones was that my brothers and I got to attend the Zurich International School, where we had the opportunity to learn alongside a diverse community of students and teachers from all around the world. Fast forward to today... it was a great honor to be featured in the ZIS Voices Magazine this month, where I had the chance to share more about our work at PairUp and how our software helps companies harness their internal data to boost efficiency and better support their employees. Check out the full story here: https://lnkd.in/g-hXus9W Big thanks to Lucy Jolin for writing this story, Michaela Seeger for reaching out, and to each of the amazing educators, leaders, and coaches at the Zurich International School who helped create such an enriching learning environment for students! 🙌

  • We're reflecting back on KMWorld 2024 today and what a truly remarkable experience it was! Below are 5 key take-aways: 🤝 Keep Humans in the Loop: AI systems need human oversight to ensure effective and responsible outcomes. 🔍 Prioritize Quality Data & Tacit Knowledge: Strong KM practices are essential to avoid “garbage in, garbage out” scenarios. High-quality inputs, well-prioritized content, and commitment to content accuracy are crucial for KM & AI success. 💬 Knowledge Discoverability through Taxonomy & Prompt Training: Crafting effective prompts and questions is key to leveraging AI & KM resources. 👩🔬 Embrace Experimentation: Start small, iterate, and scale what works. Intentional, iterative growth is more impactful than perfection. 📣 Proactive Change Management & Leadership: Successful KM initiatives require proactive change leadership and strategic alignment with organizational goals. Thank you to all of the fantastic KMWorld organizers and presenters who shared their wisdom and insights. We are already looking forward to next year!

KMWorld 2024 was one for the books! It was such a joy to gather with so many inspiring Knowledge Management leaders, collaborators, and friends this past week in D.C. to learn and share more about our work at PairUp. A few highlights: 🧠 Discussing the complex balance between AI + human intelligence, and the need for both in KM. Enjoyed hearing some powerful talks on this theme from leaders like Taylor Paschal, Adrian Villarreal, Tamara Viles, and others. 📚 Getting my signed copy of "Handbook of Community Management" by Stan Garfield, a KM legend and the organizer behind the SIKM community. Grateful for Stan's inspiration and knowledge around building strong communities. 🎙 Joining for a live recording of the Knowledge Fika podcast with the inspiring KM leaders Rebecka Isaksson & Dawn Brushammar. If you haven't subscribed to this podcast yet, you should check it out here: https://lnkd.in/gurYQbXu. 🤝 Meeting in-person with new and old KM friends and collaborators like Moria Levy, Mehsum Basharat, Lindsey Carlisle, Sam Solomon, Gabriela Fitz, Crystal Lopez, MLIS, Julie L. Mohr, Vanessa Liu, Stephanie Wodarski, Sophia Castro, and many more. 🥘 Getting to share delicious meals with KM community like Badou Bousso, Ninez Piezas-Jerbi, Stan Garfield, Fitsum Habtemariam, Angela Forest, John Hovell, PMP, CKM, Barisa AbdifatahArno Boersma, and James Bickham. 🏛 Soaking in the glorious D.C. beauty on morning runs with friends. ☀ … and much more! One more software company we are collaborating with is PairUp. PairUp is an #AI-powered platform that maps a company's knowledge base to create a more streamlined way to access the most up-to-date context, documents, and people. Their proprietary software combines AI with human expertise to ensure vital company information is accurate and accessible. A few key features that turn them unique: 👉 Smart Knowledge Discovery (Push & Pull): Employees often struggle to uncover and leverage the full scope of organizational knowledge. PairUp combines proactive, personalized updates with customized knowledge graphs, empowering employees to easily navigate key resources and trends across any topic—without precise searches. 👉 Identifying Critical Knowledge Gaps: Leaders often lack visibility into company-wide progress, updates, and critical staff needs. PairUp helps uncover knowledge gaps, highlights trending topics, and provides sentiment analysis, providing leaders with actionable insights to stay informed and aligned. 👉 Keeping Teams Aligned: Staying updated on company developments that impact the work is challenging. PairUp lets employees follow topics of interest and delivers daily insights with key updates and learnings, keeping everyone on the same page. We at ROM Global are proud to support the implementation of KM AI-based software tools like Pair-Up, contributing to the advancement of organizations toward new capabilities and success🚀. Loved getting to be part of this incredible panel last week with this group of rock-star founders building in enterprise AI! 💫 A very big thanks to Goldman Sachs, Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and Female Founders Edge for hosting this powerful event and for all the work you're doing to support founders. 🙌 Deeply inspired by my fellow panelists who are each building innovative AI-powered startups: Michelle Wu of NyquistAI, Ellen Choi of Edgefield Group, Charu Singhal of Etta.io, as well as our amazing moderator Anna Chukaeva who is a former founder and the genius behind the Female Founders Edge. Really enjoyed learning from each of your reflections and learnings! 🧠 In addition, a big thanks to Zoe Abbott Boyd from Goldman Sachs, Adelaide Renee Coman from Stanford University, Paul Kang from ALTA HOLDINGS, and Anna Cheniuntai from Apis Cor for all that you did to make this event possible. 🙏 The startup journey is not an easy one, and it felt so comforting to be surrounded by this community of peers and advocates as we work to bring our visions to life. Grateful to be on this journey together, and looking forward to all that lies ahead! 🚀

  • How might we mobilize staff to be effective content creators and managers, even amidst high organizational turnover? Last week we were honored to co-host our monthly Knowledge Management (KM) Community gathering with the amazing Keeley Sorokti, director of Knowledge and Collaboration at Sift. We discussed tools and best practices for motivating colleagues to document and share their knowledge. 3 quick take-aways from our discussion: 1️⃣ Embed Knowledge Sharing in Daily Workflows: Align knowledge sharing to team goals to make it a natural part of employees' routine. Ensure new employees are onboarded with these practices from day one. ✅ 2️⃣ Utilize Tools & Prioritize the Human: Use tools like templates and gamification to help make the process easier for staff, but remember that internal champions are critical for lasting impact. 👫 3️⃣ Psychological Safety in Knowledge Sharing: Foster a culture where knowledge sharing feels safe and valued to create a knowledge-sharing mindset across the organization. 🧠 Want to learn more? Join us for our next KM Community gathering on Thursday, December 7th where we will have a special guest joining us to share some of the latest KM research -- look out for more details coming soon! 🎉
