I’m glad to share that I’ve recently joined Orbit Farming as a Social Media Manager! This is my first job, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of a passionate team dedicated to mechanizing mid-sized farms in India. With my farming background, I know the real issues faced by farmers, hence truly loving to work here to improve their lives! Back then, I was freelancing, which was inclined toward the entertainment sector, but it had its own limitations! This role has greatly expanded my skill set as it offers me the chance to dive into various aspects of digital marketing, including social media content crafting, website design, video and poster creation, brand management, and many more! As planned, I was using an organic strategy for Orbit’s social media, and as per previous experiences, I knew this strategy takes a long time to show results, yet I was trying my best to generate more engaging content. And finally, I broke my own records and got 100k+ views on my video in no time, which also generated potential leads and a larger audience. In this way, building Orbit Farming’s social media presence from the ground up has been really an exciting journey. I really feel fortunate to work for my farmers! Real thanks to this amazing team. Very excited to announce that I’ve joined Orbit Farming as their Product Lead to tackle an exciting challenge - mechanising mid-sized farms in India. After several stints building products and features in ed-tech and social impact, I met Kedar Gokhale and Aishwarya Ramakrishnan for what largely felt more like a passionate discussion on their product vision and operations than an interview round, and I was immediately excited by the scope of their idea and their enthusiasm for it. 3 months since then, and we’re in the middle of Kharif Season, providing both farming-as-a-service and franchise partnerships to farmers in Maharashtra. Orbit launched with harvesting 200+ acres for Rabi the year before (their first service season), and this season we’re catering to all stages of the crop cycle with our own in-house order management and utilisation pipeline. With models built over low-cost IoT, we're also now able to track how each machine functions, identify farms clusters from map points and estimate areas covered by our machines on a daily basis. (The screenshot below is from one of our dealer entrepreneurs earning his livelihood from servicing multiple farms with our weeder in a single day) What’s heartening is that we’re daily seeing positive traction in not only more and more farmers in Maharashtra happily taking on mechanisation, but also joining us as partners - leasing our machines to explore providing mechanised services as their core livelihoods. It’s always equal parts - chaotic and exciting - working at young startups on rooted problems, but it’s even more so building here at Orbit, being at the forefront of something so vast and evolving. In fact on that note, while we scale our services, we’re looking for high-agency backend consultants and product associates to join us on our journey. (Current openings mentioned in comment below)

As a farmer myself, I have experienced many of the challenges firsthand, which makes being part of agriculture especially meaningful to me. The process of nurturing life, cultivating the land, and contributing to the foundation that sustains our communities is truly inspiring. I'm eager to leverage the transferable skills and experience I gained at Swiggy – from understanding consumer needs to building strong strategic partnerships – to make a positive impact in this critical sector.
