US Ambassador William Popp recently announced a new $9 million initiative to boost economic opportunities for refugees in Uganda through a unique partnership between U.S. International Development Finance Corporation and OPPORTUNITY BANK UGANDA LTD. This groundbreaking partnership will provide life-changing loans to 60,000 small enterprises, with 70% of loans going to refugees and 30% to host communities. Women borrowers will also be prioritized, with at least 30% of loans targeting their unique needs.
