🎄 🎉 Spreading holiday cheer, from East to West! 🎉 🎄 This week, we wrapped up an incredible year with holiday celebrations in both our Ohio and California offices. A huge shout-out to our amazing Culture Committee (we're looking at you Marletta J. Lewis Shelby Connich Lara Bartow Ben Snook and Kelly Smith!) for organizing memorable events and fostering the sense of community that makes OnQ such a wonderful place to work. Despite the 3-hour time difference, we coordinated our parties and even came together via Zoom when our Ohio, California and remote employees shared highlights from the past year. We’d like to take a moment to welcome our newest employee, Melissa Feder, who recently joined OnQ as Assistant Creative Director. Mel has a fantastic backstory. She began her journey in culinary school, which led to her opening her own bakery. Fast-forward a few years to when she was visiting the Victoria and Albert Museum in London when she came across an exhibition chronicling the history of shoes, sparking an interest in fashion design that ultimately led her to the European Institute of Design’s Sao Paulo campus. Following her time at EID, she established Féder, a thriving shoe & bag brand in Brazil, before moving to New York to study Product Design at the Parsons School of Design - The New School. Mel’s passion for spatial and retail design has been the catalyst propelling her from one point in her career to the next, and it’s what led her to us here at OnQ. Something in particular that sets Mel apart is how well she blends beauty and function in her design work. Given how we’re constantly balancing form and function in our display designs, her skillset and approach will be immensely helpful in her new role. While our big Ohio facility opening has been stealing the spotlight, let’s not forget - we also moved our California office into a shiny new space just down the road from our old one! Last week, we celebrated the big move with an open house, welcoming our CA-based team, their families, friends, and even a few remote folks who made the trip. It was such a blast to come together and celebrate.
